I want to play the game as Kayden Proctor. I can see it now, Iowa vs Alabama... I'll just wander back and forth from one sideline to the other not knowing where I belong!

Pat was hilarious in his own interviews as a player. If he just acts like himself, the broadcast will be excellent. He was always a technician of the game and a certified maniac as a player, so he will have something interesting to say all game long. He’s the perfect color man. He’s like Madden and Podalak, personality-wise.

Fresno State is a much better place for an offensive skill player to transfer to than Iowa. Sharpe has a much better chance of reaching the NFL by playing for the Dogs instead of Iowa. They are a high power offense and are consistently ranked in or near the Top 25 each year. The top group of 5 teams are much better than the bottom half of the power 4 teams. There is much more parity these days with the portal.

(36:55) Except for Larry Bird, who I contend that if Larry had had his usual monster game the day of the 1979 NCAA Championship the Sycamores would have won by a point or two instead of losing by 11 points, the exact number of points in addition to his 19 points that game that Larry was normally contributing each game.

If you ask Caitlin who is the best defenders who guarded you last year she would tell you Nika Muhl number one. Celeste Taylor would be 2nd or 3rd. She is a good spot up shooter and runs the court exceptionally and can actually catch passes. Not played one second. This team cannot stop the other team. You have the best defenders on your team as the 12th person. Make it make sense. I hope CC will go to the coach if losing continues and say give Celeste a chance. I would rather see Celeste Taylor over Erica Wheeler.

I play baseball all my life. That was a made-up call that referee most likely had money on the game he needs to be investigated because you are trained as a base runner to circle rotation as you're running from first base to second base in order to slide around the outside of the base not directly into it where your foot hits the tip of the corner of the base The reason why you do that is because you get that circle rotation to step on the base and to move towards third quicker if you are rounding the base. So honestly they need to look into the referee and see if he was betting against Iowa and just made that call so he can win some money just a theory. Because no other referee would have made that call that was made up.

All these rookies are going to struggle because they’ve had no rest from their college season. Clark may be only shooting 40% but those are a lot of deep shots and on some tired legs. Not to mention a lot of times fouled and no calls. Even at that she’s averaging almost 18ppg, 1.33 points per shot, 91% from the line, 6 assists , and 5 rebounds. Not a bad stat line. Wait until she gets a offseason to rest and hopefully a new coach in Indy. She will be just fine. Allen Iverson shot 42%, 31% from three, 78% from the line, 6 assists, 3 rebounds, and 1.22 points per shot for a career and he’s considered one of the best point guards.

Honestly, what I'm most surprised about is her teammates lack of hand eye coordination. Not sure how anyone could make it professionally when they can't handle a pass. I still think Indy should have drafted Kate Martin as their second pick. Looking at the short turn around between National Championship and first game of the WNBA, having them prepared to play together is a huge boost. Not to mention Martin is an amazing leader, and it's apparent that is lacking on the Fever. So many Hawkeyes wanted them to stick together because we knew from actually watching them play together, that Kate was a huge part of Clark's success. I will say Sides has one advantage; she hasn't been a coach long enough to be hard set in her ways. I don't think people realize how incredibly lucky we are to have Clark. I don't think she'd be the same player if she had gone to UConn. She'd be a good player, but I don't think she'd be at the "have a shoe and a basketball as a rookie" level. Coaches have programs, and you either conform or go. Bluder allowed Clark to shine, but still still had rules. Hannah wasn't out there trying logo threes. Unrealistic or not, I think a lot of Iowa fans are looking at the Fever and thinking "can we just have the 2024 Hawkeyes instead?".

Lisa Bluder is a great coach who set a high standard for ethical conduct and always carried herself with class. I have never heard anyone say a negative word about her as a person, and her players seem to have universally respected her. That is rare in a high profile job like that. She will be missed very much by all Iowa fans. She was so consistently good and all her teams had character and were fun to watch. I am sure Jan is a great coach in her own right, but I bet she learned a lot from Lisa.

Sullivan is a great fit for the program. But c’mon. Cade is QB1. Let’s not have a recency bias. Cade has good pocket awareness. He can make all the throws or scramble if he needs to. He just needs to stay healthy.

Iowa O cannot take the entire second half off if we want to attract WRs. Whether we are up or down we go into our three runs and punt offense in the entire second half for years under Ferentz. Skill position guys want numbers and that means more scoring. Winning by one point worked for Woody and Bo but time has moved on.
