That is a lie, Actually because most gay men are size queens they assume that the bottoms outnumber the tops. Black churches should be a safe space for everyone especially LGBTQ+ folks of color. It's sad that so many churches dismiss queer people, spew out homophobic rants, etc yet almost every homophobic church, has at least one gay choir director, someone that everyone ''admires''.

I personally wouldn't mind going to a queer-friendly black church like The Vision in Atlanta. The churches i used to attend, nothing homophobic, people were always welcoming towards me, but i wish i had some LGBTQ pals to connect with.

It baffles me how black queer people and the black community have spend generations trying to find validation and acceptance from a book that was only used as a tool to indoctrinate our oppression. Just because this one concept of religion was forced upon us during the enslavement of our ancestors, doesn't mean that we have to live our lives to find a sliver of acceptance in it.
