When the Engine Control Module changes the oil pressure/volume of the pump does it just toggle between min/max or does it have variable control of the oil pressure using the oil pressure sending unit as the feedback?

Thanks for your videos. Long story, 2017 Suburban, blew a oil line to the cooler, dumped all the oil on the street in about 10 seconds. Fortunately, it was on a side street and I was able to immediately shut off the engine and have it towed to the shop. During my investigation of what I believed to be a low oil pressure issue (this video may have shown it is not an issue) but I will continue my investigation. This video, and the one about the variable pressure oil pump, earned my subscribe. I was looking for a image/video showing the oil flow through a Gen V LS 5.3 motor and for the life of me I can't find one. Might be a good video to do, how the oil move through the engine and it would also be good to do a video on "Normal Oil Pressure" in one of these engines. Thanks for the information and keep up the good work.

It has some neat tech. If they can get some of the issues fixed. Like the plastic thermostat housing. It'll be a decent motor.

I was told the Nick Williams company makes the throttle body for the DBW but all the internals are just GM OEM internals. IS THIS TRUE?! Whats to keep me from just running a china one and replacing my internals and smoothing out the AIC holes...CHEAPER ROUTE in my opinion.... This info has come from two other high end respected manufacturers in person. Names not being mentioned due to industry politeness...

You want to gut a chinazon machined piece and put your oem electronics on there? It's worth a shot ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ We're not going to tell you that you shouldn't experiment and do something on your own. That would be very anti-hot rodder of us, and stuffy corporate talk that we're not fans of. We will say that Nick Williams does utilize the oem electronics as a base for the controls side, but there's more to them including upgrading the motors so they can handle boost right out of the box. It just makes sense to start from something that works, is readily available, and comes with that OEM level of durability and reliability. Nick Williams stands by their products and offers great support as well which is why we carry them. Best of luck, happy hot rodding!

@@Sdpartscenter If that's all a Nick Williams is with a little bit of a different IAC path with OEM internals i'd say its worth not spending $750. What about Granatelli? In my opinion paying for function is worth it but a name? No thanks. I wen through this with my drive by cable...

370 CFM intake port, that's aftermarket heads territory. That thing needs boost. Too bad the pistons won't like it. Good job SDPC. The dyno sheet on the OE run shows your cam made power to 7000 RPM. 😮

I'd like to see a bigger stroke crankshaft for these. Imagine getting almost 6 liters of displacement out of a V6 platform. I'd like to see more stroke and a dual plane intake with a blow through EFI on a forged rotating assembly. Imagine the torque a dual plane intake would enable especially on 14.5 psi. Imagine 700hp and 900tq in a all wheel drive vehicle. Wish you guys would of ran the graph from 1500-6500. I'm curious of what it made down low.
