Great work. Since I don't race every day, the loss of power under 4K is not woth the very top end gain. Great job with all the options

In the beginning of the video, i was actually disappointed in the gains from the bigger cams with the long runner intakes. I was thinking there had to be a cork in the system. Then the hi-ram test said it all!!! Thanks for all the hard work!!!! It seems the factory hemi intakes choke a good 6.4 that wants to rpm

people really dont know how badass these motors can be. mines a 411in with twins. rolled a 9.21 lifting just past the 1/8th at 3600lbs in my dart. that was with spark blowout and the wrong style sparkplug causing lean condition. all at 13psi and uses the ritters carb style intake holley efi

Glad to see someone has finally done this comparison with cams and intakes... I feel like it definitely answers a lot of questions and shows the differences. Hopefully no one just focuses on the HP/TQ numbers, look more at the percentages in gains and losses... only question I have is was the cam locked out and was anything done with the tuning during these test?

You should of "upgraded" to the 6.4l truck intake manifold to show the gains.

Awesome this is testing I've been looking for and to see the ft-lbs gains is also what interests me. I have a 6.4 Hemi truck and am looking for towing power to improve fuel while getting rid of the MDS ❤

Do you have to remove the heads on a hellat cam swap? My motor is currently on the engine stand. This would be the perfect time to swap the cam.

I own a 2012 Grand Cherokee with a 5.7. will a 6.4 bolt in place of it if I wanted to swap them out?

Would you PLEASE, do another run on the 5.7l and the 223231 cam but with 392heads on it instead, or maybe even all the cames with 392 heads, and give a comparison. I want your cam, but dont have any idea how they would run on my set up

Apache heads won’t clear a 5.7 bore.

The SDPC Stage 4 is better than the crappy 274; And the Edelbrock intake is just a copycat 6.1

I have a 6.4 I am going to installing in my ram 1500. I have a 5.7 with scatpack cam in it now it's a 13 so it has the 6 speed trans. Will I need to change to torque converter if I do the el chopo cam. Thanks good video.

Elchopo doesnt need a converter for either the 5.7 or the 6.4

Man we are getting there. Boost is next. The spicy special I need to try to install in a stock engine because I think that it will hit.

What headers are you running on the dyno mule? As you know, that will increase stock baseline numbers also.

@SouthTXfish kooks dyno headers. Yeah, same with not doing it with an airbox, full accessory drive, no cats or muffler. Just a good healthy baseline.

So what do you think is the limiting factor in why all the intakes seem run out of steam at 6000-6200 rpm? Is it just runner length or is there something else going on?

Take away. The 6.4 really needs a revised intake to make power everywhere. Without losing so much power under the curve. 6.4 vs Hi ram

100% The Hellcat block is the BGE block, which can hold 2500hp, but the Dart can do probably close to double that

@@captainboose8788 2500 is a time bomb at that power on a normal BGE. They are super strong blocks. 1400-1500 is no problem, but north of 2000 things get hairy.

I'm curious to see this as well. I think it would prove to be the dominant over stock 6.4 intake.

@@Big_Purr_RT I dont doubt that it would. I would guess that the results would be similar to the 6.1 Ported manifold numbers but were not sure.

Yeah but these are peak figure gains, if you look elsewhere in the rpm range I see considerable amount of gain and it's clearly more than 6hp ?

The 6.4 has big heads and really good intake flow but a tiny cam ( something like 195/206 degrees @ .050 ). The cam doesn't fully tap into the flow of heads. Then you have to factor in engine management, AFRs, timing, rev limit, etc.
