You have certainly made a meal of tying a loop there fella, there are easier ways

Thanks for watching and your comment. What would be really helpful is a positive comment and an explanation of an easier method or if you shared a video of your own 👍

How long line from pole tip to float please mate Thanks Geoff
@nofrillsmatchfishing7 күн бұрын
I always think 18" is a good starting point but it can depend on the depth and wind. So if you are fishing in shallow water you may want a longer length so not to spook the fish or if in deeper water less will work as long as it not too windy. Trial and error but start at 18" and get a feel for it 👍

Just another little tip to this vid, something I picked up from a mate is …… if you are fishing really close to bushes, brambles et al is snip the tiny loop No chance then of it snagging up !!! Admittedly you’ll have to re-tie the top part of your rig but it’s better that, than seeing your rig hanging happily from a bush !!!!!!

You could try using a tea spoon to mix it with. I do this & you can easily get it out of the corners. As it absorbs the water it stops sticking to the spoon.

Thanks for this interesting way to tie a hook Mark. I have a different method for tying hooks where they are going into a hook box with a loop on the end, but my method wouldn’t work for attaching the hook directly to the mainline/hooklength. I do have a hooktyer that I use if I need to do that though 🙂
@nofrillsmatchfishingАй бұрын
Thanks Derek. There are always multiple techniques to get the same result. Been doing it this way by hand for nearly 40 years (now I feel old 🤣), but use it mainly for paste rigs these days 😊

Would have been a good idea to move it forward and as this is targetted at beginners, show how it’s hooked, the rigs used and how to fish it using a paste pot. Seems like it was a half done tutorial

Thanks for your feedback but they are all individual video's due to the time it takes to make and edit. All of those ideas are already in the making and on their way soon 👍

Thought when mixing paste it was powder to water not water to powder
@nofrillsmatchfishing2 ай бұрын
I've never tried it that way. Not sure that would work unless you are super accurate with the mix. If you have too much water and not enough of the paste mix I imagine you will end up with a real slop.

Any particular reason why you didn’t feed anything for the first 30 minutes Mark?
@nofrillsmatchfishing2 ай бұрын
I've learnt that slapping can sometimes be enough if there are already carp in the swim, no point feeding if they instantly react to it as you want them to have your hook bait rather than the loose feed. In those conditions I only feed when I need to attract them in 👍
