Indeed, lechon, so delicious-- has origin from Spanish influence. Lechon asado( fire- roasted pig)exists in other Spanish-settled nations such as Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic ( where I am an expat currently). Enjoy the culinary menu and life in Cebu! 🍲🏝🙏👍

No worries bro. I recommend the Ayala mall in the center of Cebu city around the afternoon-evening as well as some close nearby places surrounding it since it’s so busy over there.

Be careful about overstaying.. just because you can pay a few pesos as a penalty, it doesn’t mean that your don’t have a blemish on your record. Also, the law could change suddenly and you’d be in deep doodoo. It could go as far as deportation if that’s what they decide. Always treat your extensions like your life depends on it and do it a week before expiry. As for the people you mentioned that haven’t paid for their visa extensions.. After one year they will get blacklisted from the country and can’t re-enter. The ACR card is mainly to open a bank account and get a driver’s license. That’s it.
@CoMi0005 күн бұрын
Thanks for the info man I didn’t know about that. I’ll be a lot more cautious about that from now on 👌🏾 I heard that most people leave the country for a couple days and then return which resets the entire process if that’s correct.
@jayb15905 күн бұрын
@CoMi000 No problem man. Yep, you can reset the 36 month limit for tourists that way. Here’s some useful advice, since you’re both young, have a child and your gf doesn’t have good work opportunities in the PH (plus the PH passport is weak.) It would make a lot more sense to go back to the US with her temporarily so she can acquire dual nationality. (US-Philippines) and the same goes for your child. You can both save up during this period and each time you visit the Philippines with her, you’ll be eligible to stay 1 year visa-free (saving you hundreds of dollars.) as her spouse because of the Balikbayan privilege. (Google it if you don’t know what it is.) That would be my game plan for the next 5 years if I were in your shoes.

Some think you're being negative when you speak about what really goes on in the Philippines. Truth is that's the last place on earth I'd ever get married in. There's way too much nonsense, bullshit, drama, toxicity in the name of culture and the risk of being unalive, going to jail or being deported for ABSOLUTELY nothing if you happen to meet the wrong person or the right girl with the wrong family members. Definitely not worth it in my last quater. No thank you! As a foreigner, it's their rights to use/abuse you financially and you must accept it in the name of culture.

Thanks and I’m glad you enjoyed it. I’m planning on staying for another year for sure so we’ll be in the same boat. I’m still deciding on which one for a permanent lifestyle. For now I don’t mind going back and forth since I now have a home base here.
@JamesKay0076 күн бұрын
@@CoMi000 Yes. I might do the same thing. I'm waiting for my permanent 13A visa to come in which makes it easier to fly back and forth and you don't have to keep running to the immigration office every two months. I'm not in a big city that has an immigration office.
