I replace the sensor only and the engine light came back on same code

Thank you for making this video. I had a couple days of being pained by the SHVCS message and code P1FFF ("Coolant Level Sensor Fault") with my 2015 Volt this weekend. After topping up the 50/50 Dexcool mixture (it was a bit below the coolant tank seam after many years of evaporation), I used my "get it done" OBD II scanner (Ancel AD410 from Amazon) to clear the diagnostic code while my Volt was running. The code cleared immediately, as did the dash message about the High Voltage system. I turned off the ignition and plugged in my Level 2 charger. The Volt is back to its normal charging self. Back in business!

I had "Service High Voltage Charging System" on my 2013 Chevy Volt a few days ago. I noticed that the car did not charge when I plug-in. I cleared up the code using regular obd2 scanner but the code came up again when I started the car. So I cleared up the code again, but this time I did not restart the car, instead I plugged-in the car right the way. It worked. The charge light indicator was on and I let it charged. I started the car after an hour of charging and the code was no longer shown on the screen.

My 2012 volt, 309k miles currently has had this code on for a year now, and I tried to diagnose it but the sensor is good and connector gets its 5v reference voltage, on top of all that I tried to get it reprogrammed and it's still not clearing the code anyone know what I should check next or what part of the system could cause this issue

Could be the float in the tank doesn't float any longer meaning the magnet is sitting on the bottom of the tank
@utjay200814 күн бұрын
You could try to remove the sensor from the tank, but leave it connected. Then clear the code. If the code comes back, it’s most likely a bad sensor.

It does not. It uses the HV / traction motor to start the gas motor.

I bought some Rust-Oleum Rust Destroyer which is green and probably a repackaged Ospho product. The instructions stated to apply their product, wait 30 minutes and rinse off. It never mentioned anything about removing loose rust before applying. Is all of that work necessary???

This is my woman's account. My Dad worked the Chessie Buffalo Division. In 1987 I was 11 yrs old and he'd drop me off with train crews on weekends if he was working. I became an engineer for Conrail at 21 after hiring at 20. Many adventures and rail jobs later Im still railroading. I was so blessed to catch the end of this era. Today's railroading doesn't compare. Thank You for putting this up.
