If you don’t want to break the plastic bracket attached to the actuator itself, you have to take the whole panel off. You’ll have to unclip the window if you do take the panel off (make sure you tape the window up first). I know it’s a hassle to have to take the panel off but it is worth it and makes it so much easier to switch the actuator itself. It’s also easier with another set of hands ◡̈ I saved myself $700 by buying my own parts and doing it myself (both rear sides needed to be done)

Ok, so I just finished this job. Here are some bullet points: 1. Rent the pulley puller from your local auto parts house and then look up a video (here on KZbin) on how to use that puller. You will save some time and trouble. Remove the belt pully from the pump. 2. You will access the pump hoses and the one bracket bolt from the wheel well opening. I used a large (3') duct strap to cradle and lift the wiring that blocks the view which made things much easier - you can use some wire or other method. 3. Reaching through the fender well opening, loosen and or move/remove two hose clamps (depending on the type you have) and then remove the two low pressure hoses, BE SURE TO HAVE A DRIP PAN READY to catch the fluid that will pour out. 4. Remove the one bracket bolt (use a long extension and ratchet wrench. This is the 15mm bolt that is straight in front of you looking through the fender hole. It is screwed holding the rear PS bracket onto the engine block. 4. Lift the vehicle so you can crawl under it (use jack stands). With a good 16mm or 5/8" open end or line wrench loosen the pressure hose nut and detach the steel line. Again be ready for some oil to come out. (The back of the pump is now disconnected) 5. From the front of the pump (engine compartment) remove the three 15mm bolts, note: The pump might drop so be ready. 6. Replace the O-ring on the pressure line. 7. Reverse the above procedure. 8. Fill the reservoir with fluid. 9. With the vehicle lifted. Front tires not touching ground... First momentarily start the engine but do not let it actually start. Just crank it and when you here it begin to start shut it off. Do this 4 or 5 times. 10. Now with the engine off, (you may need to have the ignition on so the steering wheel will turn) turn the steering wheel all the way to the left (or right) and then back the other way (call this one revolution). Continue until you have completed 5 revolutions. Then press the brake peddle all the way down and then release it. Do this (peddle down and up) 3 times. 11. Check the PS fluid. It should not be foaming or bubbling. If the fluid is low then refill it and repeat 9 and 10. Recheck the fluid, it should be clear and not foaming. If it is foaming then there is still air in the line, repeat 9 and 10 until there is no more foaming or bubbles. 12. With wheels still up, start the engine and listen for any PS grinding sound. It should sound quiet. If it's quiet slowly turn the wheel from left to right and back, you should hear nothing unusual. Slowly press the brake down and up a few times. If everything sounds good and the fluid still checks ok then lower the vehicle and test drive it. If not, you may need to have this particular vehicle PS system vacuumed to remove the remaining air. Again if there is bubbles in the reservoir fluid, then there is air. You can buy an inexpensive PS bleeder kit online if needed and it's actually recommended. GOOD LUCK!

When you took the fuel pump out were there 2 hoses connected under the bottom or just 1 and the electrical wire?

I own a 2001 Chevy Express 2500 5.7, and it doesn't have cruise control. Can I install a cruise control module in the engine compartment and the cruise control swith on the steering column from the same year gm vehicles so I'll have cruise control. I've seen other youtube channels add cruise control to their trucks but haven't seen on a chevy express. I know it's an option I do a lot of long drives so cruise control would be a nice option.

🚨 Hi. Do you know where I can find the blower motor relay on my 2001 Chevy Express.? I have searched everywhere and I can’t find that information out anywhere. When I turn the engine off with the key, my fan just continues to run unless I turn the dial counterclockwise to off on the heater and AC control on the dashboard. The fan speed control works perfectly so I don’t think it’s the resistor

Great video! My only concern is the black plastic bracket that comes off the actuator assembly has to be basically broken off of the inside door panel to remove the actuator assembly, that wasn’t shown or mentioned and took me a few extra minutes to figure out. I’m kinda concerned about rattling or premature wear of some other components with that bracket not being “welded” onto the inner panel anymore, but we’ll see what happens. I don’t hear it moving around when I use the window or ratting when closing the door, so I’m guessing it’ll be fine.

After replacing the fuel pump in my Jeep grand cherokee laredo 3.7 WK- Im now having a problem with a vapor lock and my new pump is making a ringing/humming noise off and on-is there a way to fix it with a inline check valve or inline filter of some sort. I have to release pressure on the fuel rail to re-crank it after it runs for more than 20 minutes/ which is a possible fire risk.
