Good explanation indeed about the original and his "twin brother". Question: why do you think the HK91 beats the PTR91 for about 1.5" in the accuracy department? Thanks.
@hlam9982 ай бұрын
@@dannyboy4805 first thing first! My HK91 was a Saco Import and it’s came with the polygonal barrel and it’s far more accurate than the normal 4 grooves barrel that the PTR has, it’s was excellent for long range and very accurate
@dannyboy48052 ай бұрын
@@hlam998 thanks for your reply. Do you know if the latest production of the PTR´s are coming with different barrels and more accurate or they still with the same?

@ it’s pretty darn good for clone hk91. I have the GI model it’s pretty accurate. But the recoils on the PTR are a lot harder than the HK91
@dannyboy48052 ай бұрын
@@hlam998 I guess that the GI model has a different barrel. It´s the closest of the original HK91. The G3 and the 91 have cold hammer forged and polygonal twisted barrels. That´s probably why they are a bit more accurate, I think.

I bought an R1 the first year on the market. It wouldn't hit the side of a barn at 100 yards. Topped it with a Leupold 3x9x40 and leupold rings and mounts. I'd expected a 1" group at 100 yards but was sorely disappointed. I got rid of that piece of junk after 1 hunting season and sold it to a pawn shop for $400 w/ leupold scope because I was ready to wrap it around a tree. I can not express my distain for Benelli now but it did break me on shooting anything other than a Remington 700 bolt-action. I actually saw an R1 in a gun shop recently and asked the knowledgeable and experienced gun shop owner his opinion and he simply said...they were discontinued!! The Benelli R1 is not an accurate rifel for ethical hunters. My target grouping were about like your and looked more like I was sighting in a 12 gauge shotgun pattern. It was embarrassing to take to the range and I never shot a deer with that piece of schitte...damn cruelty to animals so don't waste your money. I sent my rifle back to benelli asking for a replacement which they declined so I was stuck with a $1200 rifle that just flat out sucked...Browning BAR are no better!

Thank you! Detailed review. I just ordered one and am going to get the same brand scope in 1x5. Do you own the Browning BAR? Which rifle has fewer feeding issues? The bullet weight advice is very helpful. I own 5 Miroku Winchesters. Quality has been good, but have had to send a couple back for warranty issues. Since Winchester doesn’t know how to make rifles anymore, they didn’t repair either, and just sent me replacements from Miroku. I don’t want to go through the same problems with Browning. Since Browning is now foreign outsourcing to Japan and Turkey, I would like to know how many rounds you have put through both of these rifles and what if any feeding issues or other warranty issues you experienced. Thanks again for the detailed analysis!
@hlam9983 ай бұрын
@@erichall7253 Yes I owned 2 Bar. Both doesn’t have feeding issue if you shoot brass ammo. I did shoot some older wolf ammos on the R1 ounce and it’s ejected the shell, but doesn’t feed once. That tell you that the ammo itself is under power not the rifle. The older browning is great mine BAR type 1 is a Belgian made and the other one is a FNAR, which is technically A BAR MKIII, very reliable. But ok the Benelli R1 only like heavier bullets such as 165 grs and up, as of now my rifle of choice for deer hunting is my BAR
