Arguably the greatest front man ever, Alex was a rock genius. Criminally underrated apart from their live shows, they were indeed, absolutely SENSATIONAL! Loved this band, still do, saw many, many live shows in the 70's, they were THE BEST. Just awesome bucka001, thank you sir 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤️

He used music to escape from his handicap. Another Canadian and Toronto native as well, used music to escape, Robbie Robertson. Robbie grew up with a stepfather that increasingly became more and more abusive towards both Robbie and his mother. Robbie escaped into music. We are lucky both John Kay of Steppenwolf and Robbie Robertson of The Band became successful., love them both.

Theatrical as Alice Cooper, but better music. Alex is forever the man in the jar. Vambo rules!

I saw them in Salem, Oregon in May of 1969, probably on this same tour. Three Dog Night opened for them. It was a great night all around.

Someone says it's awful but to me it's been an attempt on bringing good writing in easy listening music, which is still art at a high level. I love th sh*t out of this man with all my soul

I'm shocked. I'm italian and I was just 9 at the time of this show, I didn't know about him. I became his fan when I was 15 but I used to watch Discoring every Sunday even when was a child. I remember I saw Kate Bush on it. I'm shocked to see him there, in playback. As someone wrote way before me : surreal. But magical anyway. If there were just one human in the world who could receive the gift of staying young forever, I'd like this human to be Peter. Oh, the blue of his eyes in this video is just magical. I'm going to his show in 6 days. He's often here in Italy. He knows a lot of people love him here

John Kay felt the album was weak and quickly thrown together, I agree with you fab ...probably my favorite as well and what a pure Steppenwolf vibe. I was hooked as soon I heard "Don't Cry" guitars and organ are one of a kind. Strange song I must admit.

When Harley Davidson held their 100th anniversary celebration in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, they could have had Steppenwolf as the headline band... Instead, Harley invited Elton John to headline the celebration... Everybody hopped on their Harley's and left when Elton John started to play...
