I liked kailhs. Penyus can sound nicer in certain boards I think but it also takes a little while to get used to the travel distance on

Does deskeys films fit perfectly on mx2a black? Cause I see the mx2a black housing is kinda tighter side compare to the older versions of mx black (HB, retooled, VB)

why in the absolute hell would it matter which up button you use in a tournament? meanwhile you can play ranked on tekken with training wheels on and still get promoted, but were worried about having an up key thats too easy to hit.

the plastic sticker on the weight is to make sure they are snug and dont' rattle, the 7v has the same thing.
@arpeykeys2 ай бұрын
Idk, I’m sure thats what the several screws are for lol. The small weights had 3 screws each, the external one and the brass cover had like 8 each. Plus the smaller ones aren’t perfectly snug

Nice comparison but all the switches are too clacky for my taste. I'm using a Nuphy Halo75 with silent reds and mmm mmmm m mmmmmmmmmmm no clack. Just a hint of thock :)
@arpeykeys2 ай бұрын
tbf its a clacky board. there's not much of a low end sound here compared to most other boards I think. Some will like that, some won't, its all preference :)

Does force break help with the acoustics of the Mode Sonnet? Never seen anyone do that before.
@arpeykeys2 ай бұрын
It helps a lot. It might be because I was using the alu plate without the silicone tabs, but it sounded really pingy before i taped every surface between the top and bottom case. Made a bigger difference than the copper weight did

the something something logistics comment killed me! So cool to see something like this available in stock at this price point! Honestly for those wanting top mount and not concerned about the lack of layout options, this seems like an easy pick over the Sonnet (and I say this as a 2022 Sonnet owner who just picked up a PC bottom).
@arpeykeys2 ай бұрын
Oh yea, I would definitely take this over the sonnet. The Sonnet is nice, and I like mine, but the price just doesn’t make sense to me

Haven't seen someone go with reds over blacks before. Sounds great.
@arpeykeys2 ай бұрын
Yea, I’m 90% sure they’re the same things just with lighter springs. I’m not picky about springs so long as they aren’t noisy and under 70g, so I don’t mind them. So I save like $10 not buying extra springs to replace lol

Great comparison! I was one of those original snowcrash buyers, definitely impressed by the 2nd batch and Unikeys service! That Polished WKL top Arc60 is an absolute stunner!!
@yber153 ай бұрын
Exactly the comparison I was looking for! I was deciding on going for the lubed, filmed and spring swapped Cherry MX Blacks from UniKeys or the Snow Crashes for my Neo Ergo. Ended up just ordering both and then putting the second set in one of my other keyboards
@arpeykeys3 ай бұрын
Haha it might not exactly be the classic cherry sound, but I think anything I’d put mx blacks in I’d rather put in snow crashes now
@yber153 ай бұрын
@@arpeykeys Hmmm well I'll just have to try and see what I like best in my Neo Ergo hahah. I'm currently using HMX Canglan V2's, but I want a higher pitched/thinner sound. I went for the MX1A instead of the MX2A cause the guy from UniKeys told me the MX1A sounds a bit thinner. He did recommend to me the Snow Crashes as well so I just went for both hahah

does the brass really bring so much better sound compared to the stainless steel weight or battery cover?
@arpeykeys5 ай бұрын
I think the weight just helps make the sound slightly fuller and helps with resonance. I don’t think the stainless weight will sound different from the brass weights. I’ve heard the cover makes more of a difference sound wise with the brass sounding deeper than the stainless steel cover. Someone with a unit from the china gb was talking about it in the clickclack discord. But I believe blacksimon had both stainless steel and brass covers to compare. You can find his vods on youtube

Solder is mostly just if there’s a specific layout you want thats not offered on the hotswap pcb. There isn’t really a difference in feel or sound
