Carlin outstanding player and educator. Great humor too The note about “ I meant to say 32nd notes was very funny. It’s nice to have confidence to the point that you don’t have to be perfect. I have been drumming for a long time. I love it for sure I will follow and share Take care

When you begin playing it at 80 bpm, is that now 32 notes?

I personally give it a 6, because i prefer a low tuned snare without that thud sound

At the beginning of the video , I noticed the snare was hit first with R Hand and then the chop. Was the chop started with the L hand? And you managed to accent the R Hand on the snare instead of the L hand originally?

This is sooo good. Thank you Carlin. I have struggled with understanding note value and placement on the kit. I have wondered why some of my crashes just sounded off or in the wrong place. I can see clearly now. "Nothing is hard, just unfamiliar!" - Carlin Maccular

My issue with chops are how to actually time and enter them, how do one know... Ok.. i have to enter after i hit the 1 or 2 or 3 or 4, then will a paradiddle work, or doubles or triplets, then how and where do i get out. And in almost every church chop or gospel chop, i always hear the "kkrkrl" and you always hear there's chopy and quirky sticking on the snare. Is it a rule? And how do you even know the right chop for a 70 bpm song, 80, 90, 100 or even 120. Im so confused
