@@thefatboy__goneslim7376how do you practice them? Separate or in groups?
@thefatboy__goneslim7376Ай бұрын
@@saullapointe5448 use a metronome and you can start w/ the basics by just doing RLK on the rack tom, floor tom and bass, then add 5bpm every 5 mins, don't add if you still can't do a faster tempo, try experimenting different RLK combinations around your kit as you progress. On the practice pad I just do Rll Rll Rll RLR Lrr Lrr Lrr LRL, repeatedly while using a metronome. On the kick pads if you play double bass, just do triplets with your right feet as lead, then alternate w/ your left feet as lead, every minute. Start slow then add tempo as you progress. And lastly, "KZbin" 😁

This is gonna help me much I have one question, did you think of chop/fill pattern and practice that or you just improvise it on the fly
@flashiestfreshman4 ай бұрын
Maaan this is so difficult for me. I grew up in a old school baptist church so I didn't even know what chopping was. What's a good way to start getting into chopping? I don't even want to do any of the crazy stuff. Just add another dimension to my musicianship.
@carlinmuccular4 ай бұрын
Simply put. Watch more videos on my channel! Most of my videos are “easy” chops. The harder stuff comes with lots of practice and your own creativity
@flashiestfreshman4 ай бұрын
@@KTBD242 I like to consider myself a professional drummer in the sense that I definitely can drive a groove and create patterns that other gospel drummers don't but I never was exposed to the chop thing. Just grooving and playing for the emotions of the song. I love the sound of chops when they fit the context so part of me loves it and part of me hates it. It feels like a different muscle that has to be developed.
@flashiestfreshman4 ай бұрын
@@carlinmuccularAppreciate the reply. I came up only seeing grooving drummers and listening to old blues or RnB music so I have a love hate relationship with chopping. I just started finding myself wanting to explore 32nd notes and I'm starting to feel a plateau in a sense. I can groove for days but I feel like learning this would give me another skillset for when the time is right.
