Exactly what I'm looking for. I live in MT (powdery snow). have a gas two stage for the foot plus snows but its the 15 four to 10 inchers that I wish I had a good battery operated unit. I'm on the FlexVolt Platform with one 12AH and four 9AH and like three 6AH batteries for blower, table saw, grinder, etc.

Im so confused. I thought you couldn't stain sealed concrete without grinding the top surface? What about the paint you had already applied? How does it look a year later?

What color did you get

Applying green stain to kill red is the biggest mistake. It is simply impossible to get consistent results from green stain and if you read or hear somewhere that green will fix it, it's definitely the way to ruin your white/red oak. The wood will become green no matter what this is because the amount of red in each plank is not the same as the rest. Even absorption of the stain is not consistent. Instead of that you must study the root cause of the red/pink tone. In both red and white oak the porous parts of the wood cause the red tone. The best and the simplest way to get rid of it is to grey wash it. It does two things. First it darkens the red parts and second it fills the pours with grey stain. Weathered Grey from Varathane is what I used to colour match my red oak nosing with my white oak floors. Also you shouldn't look for a 10/10 colour match with one slab. There is always colour variation. For me, 8/10 similarity will look natural and beatiful.

The can I got was no more useful for fixing a ceiling than a can of RediWhip. No matter how much I shook it and heated it up, the paint wouldn't go more than 2" into the air and barely stuck to the surface above. It just left a mess. I understand that the shelf life is limited and it's possible that Wall Mart sold me an expired can, but the date is embedded in the serial number, so it's not obvious when the cans are old. If Homax really cared about keeping their customers happy, they'd put a more conspicuous "sell by" date on the can with a warning to avoid any can that's expired, but apparently they don't care that much, hence all the bad reviews. I'd avoid anything with the Homax label at this point.

Just cause knowledge is fun. White oak isn't a species of tree, it's a grouping which I think is mainly based off the pores in the wood. You can buy red oak that looks white and white oak that looks red.
