Hi, thank you so much for this video. Are you able to completely go back to rewatch lessons/videos, and completely see what answers you gave, right or wrong? I want to be able to reinforce with flash cards or maybe some other resource if I see my student didn't understand. Also, I want to make 100% sure my student is not using any form of cheating websites. Thank you
@AmandaMelroseКүн бұрын
Yes you can rewatch the videos, do the lessons as many times as you want. And you can retake the quizzes over and over, but if you take the quiz and don't attempt to retake it, it will still show your right and wrong answers. You have to go back to the course summary screen and scroll down to the lesson you're looking for, then under "best score" if you have taken a quiz, you click on the score and that is how you can see your results. If you got a question wrong, you can click to rewatch that portion of the video or read an explanation of the correct answer. You can also see this immediately after taking the quiz.

You can view the entire scope and sequence for each grade on their website. For fifth grade they have them doing a research paper I believe. Since Acellus Academy is an online school, not a homeschooling program, they would be grading everything.

What program, in your opinion and research, compares to read a rific? Which reading program is best for dyslexia?
@AmandaMelrose3 күн бұрын
There really isn't anything that I know of like Readarific, and that's because it's not so much a reading program, it's mor of a program that teaches a skill that will help kids with reading, paying attention, following directions and so much more. It teaches kids how to use the seeing part of the brain instead of just the hearing part, so they access their long term memory. I explain it better in the video on it. But it's just not something I can compare to actual reading programs. For Dyslexia, I think Night Zookeeper is a good program. I have a review for that on my channel. My daughter used that this past year for some extra practice but you can definitely use it as your main program.
@loribaeza58524 күн бұрын
what reading program did you say your daughter is working on this summer?

Readarific. I have a review on my channel of how the program works. We're 7 weeks in. When we're done I'm going to post the results. I'm pretty excited about it because I can already see so much progress!

No I don't think you can just ask a question like that. But you might try an AI tutor. CK12.org has a free one that's pretty good.

Do we need multiple accounts ($30 per child) or does $30 cover the entire family?
@AmandaMelrose4 күн бұрын
If they are doing different courses/grade levels or if you're just using it as a supplement to have them watch certain videos then one account will be fine. If the courses are going to overlap then you might need 2..

Thank you for the review. Do they have print out options ?
@AmandaMelrose4 күн бұрын
You can't print the lessons, but they do have a lot of extra resources that you can print. If you go to the lesson planning and reporting section and then click on lesson plans, then you can pick a subject and grade level and see all the offline resources that are included. There are a lot!

We have used Acellus Academy since 2020. They used to have amazing customer support, and you could message the teachers directly... they always got back to us within a few days. In 2023, they have added their more expensive "priority" memberships, the cheaper and more basic membership no longer has good customer service. Also, their new platform has so many glitches. We used to love their system and had no complaints. Now, we are looking for new programs for this and the rest of their school years 😢.

I will ask Janel (the creator of the program) and see if she can answer.

She said that they can do it at the same time if they aren't distracting each other, but if they are then it would be best to do it separately. You get one subscription for the whole family though so you can definitely use it for multiple children even if you do their sessions separately. Hope this helps!

What style is this? My oldest learns best hands-on, so we tend to lean into Montessori and Charlotte Mason. I’m currently using Masterbooks, but this one got me interested a few weeks ago since it’s a flat fee for multiple grades. Would this be a good fit for us?
@AmandaMelrose4 күн бұрын
This is a great question. You can use this however you like - you can definitely pick and choose how much to use. So you can use it for a more traditional approach and have your child do all the core courses for their grade level, or you can just pick any course you want. They also have a lot of unit studies. You get a lot of things included with your membership so I feel like you can make this work with a lot of different styles of homeschooling.
