It was so magical. The people who worked at the Ranch were all so happy and two of the guys had just signed a one year contract. They don’t care if it’s the hottest place they love it there. Since I have an option, I’ll visit in the winter. 😉 The Ranch has more reasonable rates and they share a pool with the Furnace Creek Campground, I just found out.

This really made me wanna go there, so I went online. I can't afford to stay there except in the campground. Did you happen to see the campground? If so, how far is it from the Oasis area?
@AnnettesVanTease2 күн бұрын
If you were looking at the Furnace Creek Campground you would use the pool I swam in its walking distance from The Ranch area. The Oasis is half a mile up the road and it’s an Inn but you can have a drink or bite to eat there. We stayed by the fire both nights at The Ranch and chatted with the locals and visitors. They’re having a night viewing, sky walk the weekend of Feb 21st.

Nice to see you that you are still enjoying hot springs! It do you good I can see! These hot springs in Death Valley look very nice! In 1968-69 Charles Manson and the family stayed in Death Valley. Happy Birthday Annette and Merry Christmas!

@@AnnettesVanTease Yes you do that. If I´m wrong please correct me! Manson and his family stayed at an old former movie ranch (western movies) called Spahns ranch (George?). I don´t think that the ranch is still there!
@jarl516 күн бұрын
@@AnnettesVanTease I checked now and they stayed in this ranch in 1968-69! During their stay there a farmhand of Spahn, "Shorty" Shea, went missing permanently.He didn´t like the family and they didn´t like him. @jarl515 күн бұрын
@@AnnettesVanTease Yes go and check if there is still anything left of this ranch! I doubt there is much left! I have seen ohotos from this time and the ranch was already then not in a good condition! George Spahn was then 80 y.o. and was going blind! He allowed Manson and his followers to stay there if they helped him with his ranch!

What an interesting hike! I would love to see a condor! Parts of that trail that were close to the edge really gave me the creeps. If I was hiking that trail alone I'm pretty sure I would have decided to turn around and go back. The caves were very cool, and the scenery is incredible. You go much closer to the cliffs than I would. I'm a bit of a height sissy, even though I solo skydived six times when I was younger. I guess I owe that to young bravery, which faded as I got older and wiser. I admire your willingness to forge ahead, no matter what the trail brings you. That really is an amazing place. Thank you for going there in my place and sharing it! Is that ranch close to Bear Gulch? 😊
@AnnettesVanTease9 күн бұрын
I guess I did get a little close to the edge and it didn’t help that I was skipping along the way. Not the brightest idea but no trips. I bet you would see a condor if you went up to Condor Gulch. We saw at least 3 and about 15 ravens surrounding the mom/dad and baby condors. You don’t have to get as close as I got and there is railing where it’s steep. The ranch is near there. It’s at the visitor center. I did drive over there from the hiking spot. There is plenty of parking though at the ranch area. Oh, I’m working on my email to you now too. BUSY day back into the real world. 🤗
