What a great hike. I thought Jurassic Park was filmed in Hawaii...who knew. Annette DiD 🤣

Oh I’m sure it was filmed Hawaii, this was a very quick scene for Jurassic Park 2. I looked it up once I had service. Baby dinosaurs attacked a man in Fern Canyon. The quick scene made this place a hot spot, apparently.

@@AnnettesVanTease your weather seems so much cooler than ours. We have to drive 3 hours just to get to 90s in the days and cooler nightly temperatures at 11PM it is still a hundred degrees at home we deal with it

@lvmtb I cannot imagine! It was 112 here so I drove to higher elevation to save 10 degrees, basically. I should have gone to the coast but I survived the mountain heat by cooling off in lakes.

I was in the Redwoods National Park, so I was under the tallest trees ever. Soon I’ll be in a Sequoia forest where they’re even bigger. So worth it at the end, that canyon was amazing. 🥰

@@AnnettesVanTease I've been up somewhere near Tahoe and those trees were massive. Big cones were dropping (or something was). And that was a bit worrying. One of those hitting your noggin and you'd know about it!

Or maybe you wouldn’t know about it if it was big enough to knock you out. I wonder if you were near sequoias.

Redwoods are a sturdy tree, luckily providing shade for the 13 miles. My feet were sore for a week after, those roots. Yes, so lush! Definitely worth it in the end.

Kudos to you, Annette! That was a long hike. The area is so lush....amazing trees, lovely ferns, and refreshing creeks and waterfalls! Beautiful scenes in this video. And man, that dinner looked good too! Nice beach camp spot to end the day. I am curious if you drove up 101 to get there, or did you go here on the way back from Grants Pass? Thanks for showing us these awesome places!

Stunning! Yes it looks like dinosaur territory! Was it really 10 miles? Looks like a great walk though! Did you need a pass? Great music! Wow beautiful! Wait you can drive to the other side without the long hike? That’s a lot of free calories right there! Great walk! g

It was over 13 miles round trip. The park person said you need a pass/permit to go to Fern Canyon. Since I walked from the trailhead off the headquarters I didn’t need one. I’m not sure how that works but I’d recommend getting the permit and maybe walk a mile or two then turn around.
