And if there were any reservations about his ability to flat out slay and shred? Example A

I FEEL every sonic, gutteral, and feral tone of every second of Billy's second solo right before the breakdown. Goddamn! That's some uncut rock and motherfuckin roll right there

This shows BCs true virtuosity. James is a world class guitar player, but hiding in the corner trying to keep up. Billy plays like it's the easiest thing ever

Anyone who heard this song early on in the Pumpkins’ career knew that they weren’t really about punk rock or any of its trappings, despite all the popular “grunge” and alternative bands paying it lip service. They were all about that BIG rock sound, the sound that would fill arenas for decades to come. And that’s why they’ve been my favorite band since I first heard them. Unbelievable how good they were, and continue to be.

cant believe this video is so old. loved billy corgan since i was 9 years old and idolized the smashing pumpkins. the reason i started to want to play guitar was because of how much i liked the smashing pumpkins and billys voice. this is the first time ive ever heard this version and im shocked this exists. its so beautiful, you can hear the drops in the bass from when they play it with distortion. its a weird feeling knowing the song to be played with electric and now hearing it perfected in acoustic idk.

On the part after the double solo with the bass and the drum did he just make up everything there on the spot or did he write those before or did he take that from another song or another whatever? If you get what I'm trying to say
@kristopherryanwatson4 ай бұрын
Improvised. Billy often did this sort of ramblings a lot on such songs like this one and SilverF*ck. sometimes they would last more than 20 minutes.
@orangutan.manusiawan4 ай бұрын
@@kristopherryanwatson I know silverfuck has a long quiet rambling thing even in the album version but in i am ones album version theres no quiet section, and if it's improvised how do they know when to stop and when to start?
@kristopherryanwatson4 ай бұрын
@@orangutan.manusiawan probably from all the practicing and rehearsals, the rest of the band just knows intuitively maybe.

Look at the audience, so alive and living the performance. Unlike today where the smartphone has completely sapped the audience energy at live concerts
