The guitar solo at 2:27, he went after Vernon Reid's throat!!! LOL wowow. Billy destroyed all 90's alt-guitarists. Thank god he wasn't afraid to explore his ideas in early 90's. We got scorching, legendary guitar performances like this from Billy.

I would never compare /contrast but that breakout was what separated this from all the other similarly marketed bands. The rest though was very poor reading of Jim Morrison's legacy lol. It takes years to get certain schtick down....

You can say that again brother! This is THE BEST performance of a rock song ever played live in the time of mankind! This is insane! The way that Billy and the band plays this differently than the album version is like 100x better, more intense, and just rocks you're F*CKING head off! I remember watching this on infinite repeat on my VHS Viewphoria tape over and over until my ears were almost bleeding it was so good! Long live Billy and the Pumpkins. Other than Nirvana and Radiohead, no band has influenced and touched as deeply as the Pumpkins!

I can totally imagine him in 2020, playing past material with the Pumpkins making guest appearances at concerts of new, up and coming artists, becoming a big time producer, opening up a succesful records company.

Not quite! Billy, james and jimmy are touring as SP again. Corgan does do guest spots on records but doesn't really show up onstage with anybody and never started a label. He does own a wrestling alliance and a tea shop, however!!

One of my fav live songs from their 90's touring blitz. I first saw it on Vieuphoria - the VHS special release, such a great collections of live show footage. I remember it being shot better than this one but that was a long time ago lol Smashing Pumpkins live is possibly the best show I've ever been too, second only to maybe Alice in Chains. I saw them both at different Lollapolooza shows. God those were life changing events - the Lollapolooza festivals .. they're just not the same these daze. Like anything else I suppose but I'm so glad I was a teenager in the 90s.

I think he's more of Eric Clapton, or Pete Townshed, Paul McCartney of our time. He's a wonderfully talented Songwriter, Lead Guitarist, Live Performer, and producer. He helped define the rock music of his generation, and still does today. He has helped produce so many albums, played live with so many diffrent artists, lent his voice and his Axe to many performances and CD's, and he still does it to this day.

Yeah, He's wicked, man. It doesn't really matter if you can play what he can play easily, that doesnt make you as good as him, It matters if you can play as good as him with your own material, and your solo's are as good and creative and sick as his. That's what makes you a good guitar player, not matching others. No one will remember Billy Corgan imitator, but people remember Billy Corgan. Does that make sense to you?
