Most underrated band I ever knew, I've been listening to them since 95 still totally unknown in Europe
@Trubaster9 ай бұрын
I never understood why the record company never push them to Europe...I was visiting my brother in Canada in 1999 and was hooked right away forever and took it back home and hooked everybody I knew as well...Such a shame we can never see them live here...

Ironically enough, Canadian bands do very well in Australia. I think now, as a Canadian lad, born and raised, that we are no longer taking advantage of our own sound, and music scene. The Tea party was the edge for me, to reflect on what I have here. I love a lot of bands throughout the world, but it made me look into my own backyard...thanks!
@OutofTune716 жыл бұрын
One of the best songs ever, that´s for sure. What I think was unique with this band is the sound they had. Not only the style, but the actual sound engineering. A perfect sound, without being "stiff". There are many bands out there with a perfect sound, perfect pitch and all, but they can´t touch the mighty Tea Party, artists of sound landscapes. A pity that they didn´t played in Sweden.

Great band.. awesome music. I use to listen to The Tea Party back in the mid to late 90's ( aprrox 17-19 years of age then ) with a good group of friends and drop an acid tab or mushrooms and we tripped out hard, wass soooo fun cos of the shit we use to get up to and just being free of stress and worries of life. Anyway, great music like this will always be remembered just like the younger years.

The tea party transcend Genre. I mean technically they'd probably qualify as a prog band (themed albums, 8+ minute songs, unusual musical devices) but they really are their own genre of 1

I love their whole work. The earlier albums, edges of twilight, transmission and splendor solis being right there on top of everything else I listen to. Interzone Mantras, seven circles and triptych were all right but I was expecting more originality after their earlier work. I already miss em.

This is still the best band I've ever seen live. They had an amazing knack to electrify a crowd. Have seen them 7 times! First time at "Alternative Nation", a one-off two-day rock festival in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The two days also included Tool, Powderfinger, Lou Reed, Nine Inch Nails, L7, Faith No More, Pennywise, Andy Prieboy, and shiteloads more. And Tea Party rocked over all of them, believe it or not! Their 2nd album had just come out.

Not to mention that they had 6 releases during the 90's, all of which varied greatly in style. You can't say that about any of the other bands you mentioned. Plus they didn't break up in the 90's. They broke up in '05. They had three albums after the 90's. Two of which were really good. One of which, TRIPtych, had their most popular single on it. Their live shows wouldn't have been the same without Lullaby and Halcyon Days, especially with the Zahira/Rakim intro. And Mantra was a masterpiece.
