The transition from the breakdown to the guitar solo at 3:10 trips me out. It's like the song almost falls apart and then comes rushing back with ferocity, One of the coolest little things I've ever seen a rock band do. Billy's long red hair is sick!

It's really odd how a lot of people complained that guitar solos went away in the 90's when literally every grunge band had incredible guitar players in them. I still don't really get it.
@guitaristssuck89793 жыл бұрын
But this is not a grunge band. "Grunge" as a musical term doesn't make any sense.
@philiom77242 жыл бұрын
That's more in regards to well rehearsed, fast, clean solos that were played the same every time in bands like Poison and Motley Crue etc. Kurt Cobain pretty much stabbed that notion right in the face and we stopped seeing it so much.
@chizorama2 жыл бұрын

Siamese dream is one of my favourite records ever. Te tone is perfect, the solos are great, the songs are both original and have a hook, the drumming, the effects. It holds Cherub Rock which is the Sp tune I like best. And Gish is one of the best debut albums ever made, really neat to pop in, push play and let it run.

Anyone who heard this song early on in the Pumpkins’ career knew that they weren’t really about punk rock or any of its trappings, despite all the popular “grunge” and alternative bands paying it lip service. They were all about that BIG rock sound, the sound that would fill arenas for decades to come. And that’s why they’ve been my favorite band since I first heard them. Unbelievable how good they were, and continue to be.

All it takes is about 5 seconds of reading to know the Gish guitar was a yellow strat that Billy then painted. And a further few seconds to Google return of the Gish guitar and see paint markings on the returned guitar in exactly the same spot as the guitar shown in the video. It's far easier to assume you know what you are talking about than actually look into it. But what do I know.
