I’ll admit I’m an old guy and my first Tacoma was a 2001 TRD off road v6 manual transmission - best car I’ve ever owned and I miss it everyday. I stupidly got rid of it after 13 years and 315k miles. Now I have a 2014 which I don’t really like. What I find odd about the new trucks and the younger generation is all they care about is the “tech” the apps, the electronics, the gadgets, the conveniences. I would think the number 1 complaint would be the price - aren’t these things around $50k? I can afford one, but would never pay that price for a rolling smartphone. Apps/subscriptions to own a truck? Fuq that.

I like this mod for slow off-road applications but some people should not install this 😂 any high speeds with your dif locked will surely blow your dif. This is for all the folks that want it to do donuts and burnouts it will absolutely cook your dif. There is a reason why Toyota only allows it to be locked in 4low. These difs are not built for racing/drifting applications and cannot handle that type of load.

@MuscleAmerican oh please. The frontier is still best in class when it comes to power. It may not have turbos ( I wouldn't want any). But if you get the rpms up, it'll absolutely rip. Agree to disagree, i guess. It ain't that deep, and here i am talking my ahh off about it.

@ in terms of acceleration my 3rd gen V6 Tacoma was almost exactly the same at the quarter mile as the frontier. I have a video on it. I’ve also done a quarter mile with this new 4th gen Tacoma and it dominated it. I’m certain this new Tacoma would gap any Frontier. Check out the videos.
@bernardberben4852
@bernardberben4852 Күн бұрын
@MuscleAmerican it might. You have physical evidence, and I don't, but. Would the Tacoma gap the frontier in a reliability test? Probably not. And frankly, reliability is all I care about. Plus the frontier looks worlds better. Boxy and aggressive, like a truck should be.
@MuscleAmerican

TRD Lift means from 50,000 lifted to 61,000$ and offers nothing more than my 2006 Xrunner for 23,000 when you’re driving right next to me on the freeway. Can’t believe there’s people dumb enough to spend 50 grand on Tacoma.

Definitely a nice upgrade for 2025 and for those that are off roaders. Doubt we will see it in Canada. Lifting can cause insurance problems. At least in Ontario where I live. But as this is a Toyota lift this changes things. It’s OEM and hell it’s warranted, sweet! I am also guessing that fuel economy suffers. The coefficient of drag has to be higher. But I have a feeling no one who buys this truck will give a dam. 🤣
