I went to Ashover yesterday; the Clay Cross Company / Ashover Light Railway used WW1 Baldwin engines at 60cm gauge. I can imagine Peggy (from Ashover) could have known Stanley during WW1. I don't think she would have come to Sodor after the Ashover quarry line closed in 1950 due to the gauge difference.
