Because of her legacy... her sinking birthed modern maritime regulation. Iceberg patrols, standardised distress flares, making sure every ship hada permanently manned communications with shift rotation so a well rested crewmember was always availabe to man the communications; all thanks to Titanic sinking.

It’s a story that changes with each new telling yet still retains everything told before without losing any detail in the process. And somehow doesn’t descend into a hideous mess but becomes a complex tapestry of life,death, emotions, the past and curiosity.

As a Titanic history hobbyist, I can say your work here is outstanding and 100% accurate. There were so many images from Olympic that were passed off, after the disaster, as being from Titanic. There were profiteers in that day, too. Well done.

I only recently found out that the Titanic used Linoleum on her floors and on some walls. I would have thought Titanic would have been far more luxurious than that. But after watching Titanic Honor and Glory, I've noticed that many rooms in the Titanic were cheap looking, such as the Parisienne Cafe and the swimming pool. In White Star's defense, they only had six weeks to fit out the ship before her maiden voyage. And Linoleum was much lighter and hard wearing.

I'm sorry this series ended. I know a lot about the Titanic, but there's always something new to learn. And sometimes we don't have your creativity to share in such a beautiful way.

If it never sank, it would’ve faced the scrappers torch or would have been purchased and converted into a floating hotel and museum very much like the rms queen Mary in Long Beach California.

I think one of the main reasons why we are obsessed with Titanic is that it this disaster is the reason why we have so many safety regulations with it comes to ships and boats. It was due to human error and the crew not being properly trained in lifeboat drills that cost so many lives in this disaster. Ever since Titanic disaster, America and other nations passed laws and regulations of ships that trys to prevent another Titanic disaster from happening again like having enough lifeboat for every passenger and crew member of a ship.

I just noticed something... at 3:21 The vid shows a double wash stand next to a wall. The stand is level and the wall is slanted. Looks like that's where the sheer of the ship is. Interesting. You don't see that much.

I think the main reason (not mentioned in the video) that there are not many interior Titanic photos is because it sank. I'm sure other passengers had cameras that are now 12,000ft below the ocean. Father Browne also took a picture of Phillips and Bride on the ship.

It's too bad that Browne didn't snap a photo or two of the Grand Staircase on Titanic. Its possible that Titanic's Grand Staircase may have been slightly altered and may have been a little different than Olympic's Grand Staircase. But since there are no known photos of it. We may never really know.

WSL Had taken and even stolen every record with in a short time to say it had gone down in one piece. In 1985 if there wasn't any prof to say that was the Titanic they would've called it by another name or never mention that they found the ship

And what if she hadn't sunk? Letd put it this way. If the Californian had sunk, and not the Titanic, where would the press coverage be ?? A two minute wonder! The ONLY reason she was so exploited wad the media hype. The biggest EVER built. The richest clients. The most luxurious fixtures and fittings. The huge loss of life DUE TO INSUFFICIENT LIFEBOATS. There was no credibility in the Captain. No credibility in the rush to dock BEFORE TIME ! (Just to beat her record). No credibility in no binoculars at the Crow's nest. Originally this was told to be Smiths responsibility. They were locked in his suitcase. The treachery is hauling the site for artefacts in order to keep her alive, despite being a marine graveyard to those who worked their fingers to the core, and those locked away from 1st and 2nd class passengers. That is the real sin in this debacle. Huge huge respect to those who survived: but more spiritual respect for those slaughtered in the name of greed.

At 2:41 you show a picture of the reading room on A deck, I see this same photo in father Brownes titanic album ISBN 978-1-910248-27-0 and it said he took it on Titanic, but I agree it must be Olympic, how can that be, mmmmmm?

Not true that clothes weren't washed. That was perhaps the outer clothes. People did wash and change their underclothes, which were designed for absorbing sweat, and for men their collars and cuffs.
@adriandunne4382
@adriandunne4382 Жыл бұрын
Collars and cuffs were often made of Celluloid until World War I which was simply wiped; women's blouses,(then called shirtwaists) also had Celluloid collars and cuffs. Celluloid is nitrocellulose which is dangerously flammable ,.

on a titanic website it says crew members 908, also by looking & writing how it looks on all life boats they seemed to have just over 30 passengers in each 16 life boats and there's 4 other life boats labelled A, B, C, D any idea what they mean ?

If the first photos shown aren't from the Titanic then it's Olympia's interiors that means the ship that went down is Olympia not Titanic! Meaning the name Olympia WA erased and Titanic was written on top to hide Olympia. Why? Olympia was the ship that had a run in with another boat,the ship was refurbished and used in Titanics place but it was the Olympia . This ship has to be used to get the insurance money that was increased three weeks before sailing off. What a conspiracy against innocent people, children young people middle aged and older. This that wanted to rich NY to prosper and reach an American dream never thought they wouldn't make it. Sad story get me mad these crooks that caused this for money gain cause of the accident the Olympia took, was the only way the company who filed for bankruptcy could get out with some money in there pockets, but at the expense of innocent people.

It was Olympic not Olympia but I agree, I think they callously sunk it for the insurance money, I think California was supposed to pick up the survivors but someone had other plans and wanted all dead.

Actually since the Titanic and Olympic were supposed to be furnished and decorated almost identical to each other the Olympic photos are still relevant - interesting because the Cunard Line’s Mauretania and Lusitania were quite different internally, as if they wanted each ship to have its own identity. I don’t know if there are photos of the Brittanic of a few years later to see how it may have differed from the Olympic aside from some additional features (children’s playroom, hair salon etc.).
