I’ve had G7 almost 1 year now and I’m still waiting for it to communicate directly with my Apple Watch. CEO said “shortly” over 9 months ago.

Remember when they were saying that the Dexcom will communicate directly to an Apple Watch by the end of the year. Well, that was a year ago.

Thank you for doing this. Had one question. In comparison, to the G6, it looks like there is not a battery(transmitter) needed anymore? It was annoying as it lasted 90 days and sometimes I wouldn't match up everything correctly with sensors or receivers. So this seems like a huge advantage in that case?

You’re 100% correct. Not having to worry about remembering to order the transmitter and syncing the order dates has been a big relief.

It's good that it all carries over from g6 to g7. But I'm going going from dexcom one too g7. Will I have too make a new account, or would it be same? As you mentioned about g6/g7 cross over? 😊

Hi! Is it normal that the sugar readings are 30 points off from a normal glucometer? Or is just the first day? First few days? Today is my first day and I have recalibrate 3 times already

This may be a site issue. I would make sure to place the g7 near the middle of the back of the arm.

For android 14, is there a way to get a widget on the lock or home screen thst has BG?

I’ve yet to try g7 on 14. The g6 used to auto prompt it in the tool bar. Does the g7 do the same?

@typ3me no. Also the G7 app doesn't even work for android 14 get, my husband had to download a separate app

Using my G7, previous G6, on my android phone and I notice now I am getting TWO notification from sensor. One says what my BS is and another saying that the "Dexcom App is Running". Is this a problem in the setup of the app or what. My G6 app never did this???

Good question Donald. There may be several different causes for this issue. Personally I’ve experienced my watch not showing the same reading as my CGM phone reading when my phone is having trouble connecting to the internet.

Does the G7 receiver have loud alarms?

Certain phones will allow you to adjust the notification volumes for specific apps like Dexcom G7. If you are using the receiver that comes with the starter kit, the notification is not very loud, but the sound is very specific and does not get lost in a noisy room.

I just find a corner and pull slowly. If you have sensitive skin baby oil helps immensely.

The G7 app ONLY works on Google Pixel 6 or later, and certain models of Samsung if you have Android 13+. It is NOT COMPATIBLE with other phone brands or earlier versions of Android. The reason is because Google makes Android, so their phones get the OFFICIAL VERSION of Android OS updates. And Google has licensed Samsung to use the same version of Android. But other phone manufacturers take the base Android version and tweak it to meet their own specifications, so they are ineligible for official Android system updates. And since this is a MEDICAL DEVICE, the FDA and Google want to make sure that everything is official and updated properly to ensure that nothing weird happens with the app that might cause harm to patients. So if you have an older model phone, or a non-Google/Samsung phone, you will need to either pay around $3000 for the receiver or else buy yourself a proper Android phone for compatibility. If you have a proper Android phone, or a fairly recent model of Apple iPhone, you can SKIP the receiver and use only the app. Save yourself a few thousand bucks that way.

The G7 is a PROBLEM. MARD of 8.1??? How can you tell?? I feel lucky if my G7 is within 30 pts of my meter reading. Ive been using the G7 since 10/23 when I gave up my G6 for the "better" G7. No. It isnt. It is a POS. Can you calibrate the G7?? Maybe. It is about 50/50. The G7 often rejects my calib. attempt. Why?? No reason given. Yesterday the G7 was higher than my meter by 70 points. Tried 7 times, over 40 minutes, to recalibrate it. It rejected 5 and the other two did not change the G7 reading at all. Maybe it doesnt like the FACT that it is inaccurate. The G7 is "out of range" 90% of the time. I am often within 18 inches of the phone and the sensor is still out of range. BS. Does the G7 work with the INPEN??? Nope. Not. At. All. Does the G7 work anywhere?? Nope. "Only on your upper arm" say the Dexcom tech. support. They told me this is stated on their website. No. It is not. Watch the sensor before you put it on. Ive had 2 sensors that had the needle OUTSIDE of the proper injection location. Both did NOT work. Do you use the sensor tape thing they give you?? Another POS failure. What they DO NOT tell you is that it is IMPOSSIBLE to remove. After removing it, I picked up the 47 little pieces of sticky stuff and threw them away. I wanted to toss the G7, too. Their sensor sticky things are like using wet tissue paper. When you try to remove it, it simple tears apart. You remove it tiny piece by tiny piece. Of course, you scratch your arm red with these 125 attempts to tear the fkg thing off. Utter BS. Often, the G7 will go from 130 to 190 to 250 to 320 in less than an hour. I check my meter and BG is 220. WTF?? No idea. G7 usually rejects a recalib. during these temporary insanity periods. There are SO MANY more issues with this POS G7. I am done. Going back to the G6. G7 = worthless POS that Dexcom refuses to fix.

Hey Chris thanks for filling me in on your experience. I especially love the part about the adhesion turning into 47 little pieces. It's so true and I wonder why they chose this type of adhesion. That sucks that your having so many issues Will your medical coverage let you switch back to the good old rusty trusty g6.
