My story so far has actually resulted from gaming and other forms media. My mental healths been on the decline since I was about 16. And gaming is a sensitive topic for me sometimes, specifically with topics I don’t enjoy. It’s been hard for me to find games I can enjoy, and love. So as someone with strong emotional triggers, just your little tw warning meant a lot. This whole video means a lot, you did fantastic.

Combat Vet with PTSD checking in. Just to give a light background to how it feels for me to have the condition, It truly feels like a mental health cancer. I have struggled with it for years. luckily I truly have an amazing friend group and family that support me no matter how bad it gets. I am doing much better than i was and honestly thats all i can ask for. Now to answer what gaming is to me. I have 2 answers as i feel like this is for two different parts of my life. When i was younger i was pretty lonely. Halo was the first game i actually remember beating. I felt like i was part of something and joining the fight. The books for Halo helped lead me to the military. Ok after War I came home pretty mentally messed up. I saw a lot and lost friends. I cannot think of a darker time in my life. I am a suicide survivor and thats whats important for the next part of this. I came home in 2010 and i was so lost, I ended up hanging with a friend of a friend who became a very important figure in my life. anyways they turned me onto league of legends right after the beta. I never felt more like i belonged to something. I talked with people with many mental health conditions and it honestly felt like we were all battling together. I know the game became pretty toxic but i still play. It saved my life back then and now i actually wanna get good at it and share my love of it. Thanks for reading i know it was a lot. P.S We are all warriors fighting our varied demons together. As someone who has been to the pitch black parts of depression remember this, The dusk may be darker than ever before but itll make the next dawn brighter than ever before. You got this Warriors!!!!

I'm definitely late to the party, but there's another PS3 racing game I played a lot of as a kid called "Mod Nation Racers". The big centerpiece of the game was how you can completely customize your racer, your kart, and even make your own race tracks. Do you think you'd want to check this out? Its been years since I've played it, but I hope it still holds up.

I'm not sure if this is true, but this game had levelution before it was cool. Buildings collapsing and cutting off paths while opening up new ones. The ground cracking, shifting, and falling beneath you. And just the fast-paced chaos as the world falls apart around you, making you feel like a badass if you can navigate through all of it.

I think the first time I experienced real comfort and a healthy escape through video games was when I was around 11, I lost a friend to suicide. It ate me up so bad. As a Christian, my faith is absolutely what got me through that situation. But it did not hurt to have The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker on my GameCube. That game gave me so much comfort with its themes about perseverance and courage, and it’s just sense of adventure and it’s beautiful music. Still my favorite game of all time. And this video kinda drew my attention to something. I don’t know if I really made the connection till now that in some of my hardest seasons of life I have gravitated towards Zelda games, and Zelda conversation videos. One because the games are very comforting to me. And also the community I get from watching videos of people talking about their experiences with them… pretty dang cool. All that to say, great video! Thanks for sharing your story!

11:15: Of course it is blurry. The PS4 is an 8th Generation console. Wii U was a 7th Generation console, CPU/GPU-wise trying (unsuccessfully) to compete in the 8th generation. That is 90% of the reason why it failed. Nintendo got away with that in the 7th Gen because of the Wiimote, and they thought the GamePad would let them get away with again.

I have depression and anxiety and for me action/horror games make me feel really at peace - its kind of hard to describe but if I had to I would say it's like all of the chaos that's usually in my head is on screen instead for once. Some of my friends don't get it and say that playing scary games is probably bad for my mental health, but if you know you know I guess :)
@dreamlike56593 ай бұрын
You explained it really well…. I thought that horror games weren’t good for one’s mental health… you changed my perspective of the matter. Thank you! 🙏🏻
