14:00 If a server has a lot of people in it, you’ll get join lag. Generally this disappears after 10-15 minutes of waiting. I usually just spectate to wait it out. If you have more problems, be sure to let us know and we can help. This game is still active and very playable after join lag.

I played Half Life 2 for the first time last month, and let me tell you, the love the game still gets is not just nostalgia. I loved the story and the atmosphere. I'm planning on playing the episodes and the portal games.

I have Half Life 2 on Steam for PC, I've always wondered what it was like on Console such as Xbox 360 or PS3 but I do know one thing, Half Life 2 with custom shaders and filters on PC make it look amazing and helps the gameplay experience. Team Fortress was so good. People still playing that to this day I believe.

I've found a copy for SX via 360 bc, picking it up tomorrow, fans like you sold me on it, £12 quid, should I in your opinion do a recap on the first or go in blind? I did play HL1, my Da had it on his computer when I was a kid, I remember I was on a train going to work in it then I caused an accident, went full horror on me 😂 one of the few games I've ever been scared to play, never finished it, that must have been 1998 at least, could be wrong, just remember raving about it to my friends at school, remember I played Soul Reaver around the same time and the graphics were insane, for the day anyway, thank you for your time in advance, all the best from Ireland 🇮🇪 mate.

@@greengrugach1984 I think you should go in blind, my first ever experience with Half-Life was with Half-Life 2 and the intro of HL2 gives a very vague recap at the beginning so you should be fine, have fun!

I got the orange box about a year ago at a second hand game store for like 15 bucks and man was it 15 dollars well spent I love the game and while you can't really find any servers anymore on it you still have half life 2 with all the dlc episodes and portal 1

What i like about HL2 level design/gameplay . the devs keep making thing refreshing . you don't see them over use a new mechanic but use it enough before introducing new thing . Also as i always said . the HL2 facial animation is my favorite in gaming . i prefer it over motion capture what is far more advanced(normally actors over react what feel acted and not genuine feeling ) . Valve did work with some psychologist to understand human body language and facial expression . what really paid off . just look at any of the main characters you meet through your journey when they talk to someone . also . the story being told as you play with no disconnect between the player and the game. it make the atmosphere of the game really strong . Edit: also grate pacing between combat puzzle and story help the player quit at any time and come back to play the game and enjoy it . i can't stress enough how important good pacing in any game .

@@PlayerJuan they do :) . some players where bit disappointed with episode 2 because it felt more off HL2 and is shorter then episode 2 . but imo it is really good and serve an important part of the story and it got some of my favorite set pieces . i do recommend playing episode 1 to get the "The One Free Bullet" achievement . here is what you need to do "Finish the game firing exactly one bullet. Grenade, crowbar, rocket, and Gravity Gun kills are okay! " btw . you use that one bullet in the beginning to shoot a lock on locked door (gravity gun is your friend) . then you will play only with melee and gravity gun . the nice gimmick of this episode . is to showcase HL2 AI (Alyx and other NPCs) the game make a point to tell you that Alyx have no flashlight and you using yours to point at enemies in the dark will help her shoot them . later . you will get the rocket launcher and i say use it as much . at that point of the game . you will get a lot of ammo for it . it's really fun challenge to complete . episode 2 maybe as good and bit better then HL2 . so don't skip it .

I played HL2 on xbox a few years after it came out and fell in love with it. I play it on xbox one X or at least I did until my disc drive stopped working so I'm not happy now as I can't play it anymore. Easily one of the best games ever made

What a great video, before playing Half life 2 on PC I played the Orange Box on the PS3, this games bring back so many memories, but If I had to play Half Life 2 I rather play it on the PC, here is why: 1.Better controls 2. No loading wait times 3. Mods to improve the game visually 4. Cheats to get more ammo or every gun in the beginning of the game, or get full health when needed. This game is great on the PS3 but truthfully is was made to play on the PC.

The Orange box is so cool. Personally, while I had problems with tf2 on ps3, I did find some games that ran well enough. The game tends to get laggy when more people join, which is a shame. Never noticed major fps drops in Portal ps3 though, maybe I just enjoyed the game too much :)

Yeah I remember renting this version of The Orange Box on PS3 many years ago and I was able to play TF2 then but it just ran.... weird. So different when compared to other versions. The experience with Portal seems to be fairly smooth, with the exception of a few angles. Thanks for watching, Raymond!!

Thanks for another great video Here’s my thoughts: Orange box is one of the greatest compilations of all time and is one of the things that I believe every video game collector should own Personally I own an Xbox 360 copy which is by far the superior version Portal 2 on its own is worth owning but with the other 2 games packed in this makes the orange box extremely good value for money, even in 2021. I’m actually a little surprised it’s value hasn’t increased that much in recent years despite the fact that a number of prominent youtubers have commented on how good it is

I own Xbox and ps versions. Xbox is the better version. That being said the orange box Xbox was when my 360 broke. Red ring of death. The ps game is good only thing is frame rate issues. My ps3 never broke and still ran the game. Bottom line is the orange box is awesome no matter which platform you have.

Si, Portal es un tremendo juego e introdujo del genero de FPS Puzzles para muchas personas. Yo TF2 lo jugue principalmente en PC y como tu, al no jugar Half Life 1 no me interesaba mucho el segundo, pero ahora que ya acabe la secuela quiero eventualmente jugar el primero. Hay una version en PC que se llama "Black Mesa" que es una version tipo remake del primero. Lo mas seguro jugaré esa eventualmente. Gracias siempre por el apoyo y un abrazo para ti!

Most glitches are on US version (ntsc), PAL version is much much better on PS3 because PAL version actually got updated. Trust me, I played the full game and episodes on PAL PS3 version.

For the 4 single games of the Orange Box I just finish Portal, who's great. I'm a Console gamer at first, so the PC gaming aren't my thing at first, but I want to play more PC Classics like the Half Life series, and maybe one day do Pc retro configuration with Windows 98 and XP to not have the incompatibility problème with old pc game. Bloody awesome collection of games in one disc. Ps3 version still did good despite problems. A PC gamer told me it's the best fps game ever and I first played it on original xbox. Frame rate wasn't that bad but xbox 360 the orange box 2as better and I have the orange box now on xbox series x. Half life 2 deserves to be called b3st game ever. Likeable characters and levels in game were outstanding. The Orange box 8s a rare masterpiece of the highest quality in video game history.

In half life 2, on our benifactors, there is a glitch where the game will freeze when you get to a bridge with a bunch of guards and a stryder. Does anyone know how to fix that. Edit: The only way to fix it is to create a new save starting from our benefactors.

Portal 2 plays alot better on ps3 compared to portal 1, in fact Portal 2 on ps3 plays better than the 360 version as gabe newell made sure ps3 version was the best console version as apology for his earlier comments on ps3

I cant believe u never played half life 1, /blue shift and opposing forces (*・～・*). I wouldnt play this on ps3 bcoz mouse and keyboard is way better. I never got to play opposing forces but blue shift and half life was great. The hrs just fly by playin this game.

Mouse and keyboard is definitely the way to go with this! And I'll probably play the Black Mesa game to experience the first later in the year. :)

@@PlayerJuan too bad they took down kazaa, thats where i got them along with hitman and grand theft auto, silent hill 2. The good ole days. You wont regret it. The games are great. Hard to find games like em nowadays. Honestly idk why devs dont just puke out games for ps3? I mean it cant cost that much. Frig if they still made games like Grandia, Legend of Legaia, Shadow Madness for the ps1 i would still buy them today right now.
