I already have problems sleeping so I'm very weary on starting any AdHd meds. I only got diagnosed recently and I've managed to have a fairly decent life so far and have pretty much accommodated my life to my condition without knowing about it. So yeah, I think I'll just manage the way I've been doing so far. I do believe meds are necessary for certain people. I have pretty much all the ADHD symptoms to a degree but I've never felt less than or had bad self esteem. I just thought I was clumsy, forgetful and hyper lol. I actually like myself and I'm afraid the meds would change my personality.

Inattentive type here, I've just tried elvanse 30mg for a month and dont feel its done much at all except increase anxiety a bit and some days a bit of fidgetting i never had because im too stimulated. Ive never got on with caffeine or felt the benefits of it like most other adhd people. Wondering if non stimulant types may be better and why they seem reluctant to prescribe them in the UK.

What to do when i think i get better effects on higher dosages but also more anxiety? Can i get used to it and it will get less? My doctor says no, when you feeling anxious, the dosage is too high. I think i will try again at the 30mg and slowly try to increase. And the Prices in other countries are horrible. Here in germany everyone gots an insurance by law, and so vyvanse/elvanse costs only nearly 8€ .

I don’t know if anyone has any tips or experience with my issues. On 30 and also on 40 mg of Elvanse after 8h of sleep I barely get an effect that for 2h. Around lunch time it turns into a splitting headache and my hyperactive mind is back, the headache doesn’t wear off until the next morning only to restart the cycle. Ive read that some people with very high metabolism can work through the Elvanse “too quickly” and that this can result in a faster come down which somehow leads to a headache, much like being hung over. This might be the case for me but I really hope it’s a side effect that disappears during the titration period.

I was severely traumatized years ago as a teenage, got diagnosed with ADHD. Spent my whole life fighting ADHD. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Not until my wife recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. Much respect to mother nature the great magic shrooms.

I'm so very happy for you, Psilocybin is absolutely amazing, the way it shows you things, the way it teaches you things. I can not believe our world and our people shows less interest about it's helpfulness to humanity. It's love. The mushrooms heals people by showing the truth, it would be so beneficial for so many people, especially politicians and the rich who have lost their way and every other persons out there.

Mushrooms are very medicinal. This is why anybody familiar with psilocybin and any other kind of fungi will tell you, "They are alive." They have a very ancient wisdom. To my experience, all mushrooms have always said, "Pay attention to your life. How you think, how you feel, and what will you do with the information that you always knew, but now are seeing in this point of view." This is why mushrooms are so respected in tribal cultures. This mental health treatment works for me too. Half micro doses do the trick for me. At least a few days at a time with lengthy time in between. Never addictive. Thank you for sharing this point!

I was wondering if there is a protocol to combat tolerance. Started Ritalin in the past week. The doctor recommended to not take it a on my days off , that's what I did. Two days without Ritalin. It's only 20 mg but they are helping a lot with my anxiety and a bit with concentration. I am also taking a few minutes everyday to meditate and exercise everyday. I'll try to make bigger breaks on my vacations ...although I would like to take it everyday without loosing efficiency.

I've been living with e ecutive function problems gor years. Chronic fatigue and treatment-residtant chronic pain. I refuse pharmaceuticals, especially any due do with the brain, due to strong personal convictions. It has bern a huge challenge coming up with ways to stay on task and productive, bit on the past 3 years, I've had some break throughs I'm discovering really game-changing tools and sources that have helped me to stay on track with my home and life in general. I still have some days that are more of a struggle than others, but I've stopped spending hours over-thinking JOW I'm going to get it all fone, and instead, soend that time actually doing the things. Even if everything doesn't get done, the mist important things do. Some of the following sources or tools have to do with de-cluttering,organising and house cleaning. However, getting my house and my general dsily routines in order in ways that are ADHD and neurodivergent friendly, is absolutely essential for me to function without letting g squirrel syndrome or overwhelm get the best of me. These sources and tools are: 1. The Clutter Bug (Cassandra Arrson) . She has ADHD and struggled for years as a hot mess, until she figured out that we all have our own organisational style, and once we figure out our iwn style, organising our space and keeping it tidy becomes waaaaaaaayyyyyy easier. Sge can literally go into a very very messy and cluttered home, and diagnose a person's organisational style just by looking at their mess and asking them a few questions about their habits. I figured out my style by watching a bunch of her yt videos and by trial and error. Let me yell you, knowing your style really really keeps the chaos at bay and helps calm the dustractibility and feelings of overwhelm. Also, the channel "How to ADHD has some great trips on mzking your doace ADHD friendly. 2. The Flylady system (Marla Cilly). Her system is not just about ckeaning. It's about setting up and maintaining routines around all areas of life (i.e., cleaning, de-cluttering, self care, spiritual care, time with friends snd family, etc). It's originally designed for homemakers (whether working or not), but her system can be applied and modified for anyone. Before you look at her website, though, I highly recommend watching videos from alot of her followers. My favorites are: Today with Terri K, That Awkward Mom, Diane from Denmark. The Secret Slob, and Carry Grace. These ladies really break the system down very well. Also, the Flylafy Plus app is a free app, and once I watched the lzdies' videos and tgen got on the apo, it clicked in my head how it works and how to adjust the routines and tasks for my own home and personal nerds. Seriously. Check these ladies out. The website can be overwhelming, but her followers and tge app do a great job at simplifying it. 3. Remi Clog. She talks tge whole time through her clean with me vidr9s. And she is just amazing with her strong sense of self-awateness and her huge compassion for other ADHD and neurodivergent people. She tackles housekeeping and life in general in very unique ways. I liver her Keeoy Uppy Methid for getting things done shen you're having an easily distracted day or moment. 4. Now THIS one sensory tool has been my game-changing tool over all the timers, lists, alarms. Etc (although I still need to use those as well). That is, task bracelets (or chore charms). I searched yt videos for this idea after my hubby suggested the same basic concept. There are a few great videos out there of people who have tried and use this method. It's basically my routines (morning, afternoon and evening routibes( and my To Do list on my elmy wrist. Each braceket represents 1 task from my routines or To Do list. Whichever routine I'm in, I put on all of the related bracelets. When I'm done a task, I take the related bracelet off and drop it in a "Done" jar. The idea is tge bracelets are supposed to annoy you, but also provide sense of touch to your tool box if sensory reminders, kind of like the string on your finger method, except that it has the task labeled on it. Anyway, those 4 things are helping me ALOT! The bracekets, though. If I had discovered the bracelet method in the beginning of my struggle. I would've saved myself more than a decade of frustration and overwhelm, and would have bern way further along in my progress towards getting my shit together at 5w, than where I am now. However, where I am now after about 2-3 months of using the bracelrts is leaps and bounds from where I was before using them. I terfuotions ftom my routines don't deflate me anymore. And the frustrations tgat come with those I terrupt8ons doesn't have the hold on me that it used to have. In other words, I am a way less irritable oerson to live with lol

Hi! As you watch more and more videos about ADHD you will learn that, as crazy as it sounds, almost everything about you is due to adhd. There's lots of great people here making these videos, and lots of them are professionals with adhd themselves. The best ways I've found to help get the sleep we SO need is by taking 300mg of magnesium Glycinate a couple of hours before bed. Helps with anxiety, so you can take it any other time as well (Has to be Glycinate. It's kinda expensive. I get mine at vitacost) I also put my screens on eye comfort/protector settings because the blue light devices give off are bad for sleep time. I listen to short stories on earbuds while falling asleep in my bed too. I get ones that are kinda dull so they don't hold my attention too much. But they usually have me asleep quickly. I went as far as to turn my lights off and only put on my small lamps with red bulbs in them 3 hours before bed. Sounds extreme, but I can feel my nervous system calming when I switch over to red light. When anxiety and insomnia is wrecking your life, you'll try almost anything. So many of our problems are due to dopamine levels, and there's plenty of natural ways to get your brain to make more dopamine. I've learned how to use "cozy video games" to make dopamine. Also, you can get dopamine bursts by hugging someone, having sex, eating sugar or caffeine, listening to music, singing, dancing, exercising, watching TV or reading books that you really get into, (even audio books) drawing, coloring, painting, doing puzzles, meditating, and laughter is huge! So a fun conversation with a friend is good for you as well as watching silly videos on socials. I went way overboard with this comment, I know. 😅 Hopefully, something I said can help you a little bit.

I suck big time at making decisions, and then if I do make them, following through is even harder. Not just small decisions, but big ones are especially challenging for me, often leading to ADHD paralysis. I can't decide what career to pursue, where to live, or if I want a relationship with someone, even if I love them. It's just so exhausting to live like this. It took me 2 years to buy curtains to my apartment because I couldnt decide which one I want so I endeed up just delaying to have to make the decision. And everyday I felt bad for it. Why cant i just buy curtains like all other people? Why? I always wondered why it's like this for me, but then I received my ADHD diagnosis, and now it makes sense. This is what we have to deal with. I think this might actually be the hardest thing to live with. It's like you don't know what the hell you really want with your life and then you end up living in a paralysis where you cant live a fulfilling life. And then you have to follow when other people just go on with their lives and dont necessarily think at all about things that might be so damn stressful for us. Also thanks for your videos its important and a huge help to see the experiences of other ADHD people.

I hope you are doing better! I just got diagnosed at 71 years old and now I'm going through trials with medication and Vyvanse has been a positive drug for me. I advanced to 40 mg and now my blood pressure is going up which is frustrating. I hope it's just because my body needs to get used to it? I have somewhat of a better focus. But I do have issues with still focusing on one thing and I know they won't increase my medication. I am just assuming that because of my blood pressure at this point. I was previously on Strattera before Vyvanse and that was God awful! I think there is a generic now and it isn't as bad to get that but my pharmacist told me that it is the chewable pills that they're having a hard time getting now. I haven't been able to get the generic through CVS which is one of our pharmacies. But my mail in pharmacy said there shouldn't be a problem but I have to wait until I can order a 90-day supply which will cost me $5. At least that's what they told me! I hope that is true! Right now Vyvanse is costing me $24 a month for the name brand on my insurance. I am on Medicare and I have a supplement. I really wish you well!
