Just started on 30mg of Elvanse today after nearly 3 years with the NHS. This video makes me feel so positive about it all. I know everyone’s experience is different, but everything you said makes total sense and it’s what I want for myself. I keep turning down promotions at work because I feel like I wouldn’t be able to cope with the additional work and it’s massively holding me back, but even one day on this and I could already feel some effects and had a slightly more productive day than most! Hopefully it works as well for me as it did for you. Thanks for making these videos too, it’s made me feel less anxious and more positive!

@@MochaRose990 hey, hope you’re doing well. elvanse has been awesome, truly. i find that it really helps not only with my focus but also with my procrastination and motivation. it gives me a little bit of an extra push and i get into my tasks without thinking too much about it (and i end up finishing them too!). it makes me feel a lot more present and aware, it’s like my brain can process information without as much effort as before, which makes me less anxious as well. i will say i have noticed some side effects: my appetite has decreased a bit but it’s not really concerning, i’ll just force myself to finish a meal even if i don’t feel like it. (be careful so you don’t forget to eat, it has happened to me throughout these weeks, sometimes i’m doing something for hours and totally forget about eating); also, if you take your meds later on the day you might have some trouble falling asleep. you should to take them in the morning ideally. i wish you the best of luck and i hope meds work for you the way they’ve worked for me! keep us updated 🤗

@@manueltomas2847 thanks a lot for the anecdote! this sounds like exactly what I need. I struggle a lot with starting task, studying for school and receiving mediocre grades despite the fact that I could get much better grades, I don’t always enjoy talking because my mind is somewhere else or listening requires me to focus a lot and try to think of a response. I’m really hoping I have just as great of an experience on it. I will keep you updated. have you had to increase your dose since starting?

@@MochaRose990 sounds all to familiar to me 😫 no, i actually haven’t. it’s only been 3 weeks and i’m feeling pretty good for the time being but i can definitely say that the first two or three doses felt a lot stronger than they do now, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. i never felt too agitated or anxious in the beginning but it definitely felt like i had a BIG cup of coffee, except it lasted much longer and i didn’t experience the restlessness and energy crashes i sometimes have with caffeine (plus caffeine sometimes makes me more distracted, this didn’t happen with the meds - i’m just using caffeine as an example because i think it might be easier for you to understand what it feels like when you start). after a while i noticed the come up felt more natural and subtle but i could still definitely tell a difference. my doctor told me i could opt for not taking elvanse on the weekends if i had no intention of doing work and i’ve done that a couple of times. (check with your doctor before doing this, i just followed what mine suggested) i didn’t feel any sort of withdrawal or unpleasant feeling, it really just felt like my mind pre-meds (very distracted and ruled be constant procrastination) and i don’t mind that, sometimes i don’t need to be fully active and it’s cool to just relax. for the time being i don’t feel like i need to increase the dose but i’m not opposed to it! let’s see how i feel a couple months from now
@MochaRose9903 жыл бұрын
@@manueltomas2847 you're awesome for the replies! thanks a lot. also, out of curiosity, have you ever tried adderall? I have 3 times in my life (once 3 years ago to help study and it didn't help at all), and twice within the last few months. i took 40mg in one day and honestly didn't feel any different but i concluded that maybe it was because i was out running errands and not doing something that really required focus. so, 2 days later i tried 20mg and it did help me start getting things i was procrastinating doing, done like laundry and cleaning. butttt it didn't help me with studying and i still felt like me but when i went to sleep, i was extremely anxious and felt uncomfortable.. so i asked you this because i know adderall and vyvanse/elvanse are both ampethamines and i want to know if they had similar effects for you. if it does, i'm thinking maybe i should try methylphenidate drug class first.

The sleep part is so genuine. Before medication, I used to take the same amount of sleep, between 6 and 8 hours. However, if I slept for less than 8 hours, I feel so tired. I don't have a problem falling asleep, I more like waking up earlier than expected full of energy, then it's running out so quickly.

Just started on 30 mg of Elvanse two days before and I'm really glad about your videos and all the input! Thanks a lot for that! Now I know that my current euphoria will not last and that this is totally okay and just normal. Additionally, I really didn't know that I should drink less or avoid coffee, so I'm glad about that information as well! Today I already was very jittery, but extremely productive and I wasn't sure whether the nervousness would for the whole medication period or whether it is caused by the medication. I tried Methylphenidate and my mentality was altered. So I almost thought that I don't have ADHD. Elvanse already has great effects on my productivity, energy and motivation. But I also suffer from side effects. Especially in the first hour I have headache, feel a little bit dizzy and queasy. The nausea kind of comes back on several times during the day and sometimes I'm not sure whether I'm hungry or queasy. My appetite is less but that doesn't bother me because I gained weight because of an antidepressant. What can you say about the side effects? My psychiatrist told me that they will lessen the more my body and mind gets used to the medication. Do you have similar experiences? And do I have to expect similar effects when increasing the dosage? Looking forward to your response! :)

Hey! Thanks for your comment. Personally.. I didn’t really find the side effects ‘wearing off’ as my body got used to the medication. Instead I just spent more time in the titration phase and dialled my dose in. One thing I know is that if I don’t drink a bunch of water early in the day, I’m likely to suffer the same side effects, but that obviously won’t solve all your issues! It’s worth speaking to whoever is overseeing your treatment and see what they recommend - perhaps a different dose or even medication is needed? Please let me know how you get on! Ollie.

If you have sleep trouble, you may have sleep apnea. Sleep apnea symptoms can be similar to ADHD or accompany your ADHD diagnosis. Males with a neck circumference over 17” and females with a neck circumference over 16” are at risk. My ex bf said I snore really loud when I sleep. Got a home sleep study and they confirmed I have Obstructive Sleep Apnea. I finally got a CPAP after my dentist’s oral appliance failed to rectify the apnea and the machine works really well for me. I still take Adderall and Wellbutrin for the ADHD, but getting good sleep helps with health in so many other key ways, from reducing BP to improving mood.

Taking caffeine with Elvanse really _is_ a bad idea, not to mention the heart-rate increase, but it's especially important to abstain from it during titration, where one needs to be very keenly aware of any and all effects Elvanse is having. Caffeine will only serve to obfuscate and/or compromise this critical phase.

That’s great! Really pleased for you, Tom. @newstuff11073 жыл бұрын
Hi, don’t make big moves that you cannot assume when your meds tolerance kicks in. Many people loose the effects after a couple of months/ years. Take as little as you can, jusr enough to stay focused. Take meds holidays the more you can, every week. It may help push the tolerance further in time.

Hey. I've been taking elvanse for months now. When I initally took 20mg it was making me really jittery and nervous. I didn't like it, but then started working and noticed how much it improved my overall performance. So, then my doctor said I should go to 30mg. And I was working alot, I ended up doing 6 night shifts a week 10 hours long. And then prescribed 40mg, eventually i figured out I was getting really snappy and irritable at minor things. And would become almost fearless but angry too. It made me quit cold turkey and then I litteral took like 10mg and I got some feeling. But felt calm. Now I've started taking 20mg as the focus is there. But I am still getting angry, I wondering if stimulants are incompatible for me or if there is an alternative that will stop me from being so impulsive and angry. I have no filter as it is, but on meds I say what I think out loud and I've hurt a few freindships and been called out for overreacting. It's starting to get me down, as I've noticed the difference. I'm more normal off meds but can't focus on a damn thing for long, or I'm focused but eratic and prone to outbursts.
