Just make sure to set up the fan too. It really makes difference and uses almost no energy. Not only eliminates the smell but in my opinion speeds up the composting process. Thanks for your comment.
@CanadianDreamer4 күн бұрын
I am going to try mine with just the fan and not the heat pad as it sucks to much power. I will urnate in a jug and just #2 in toilet...hopefully it will work. There is just me in my cabin.@southwestoffgrid @@southwestoffgrid

so are there no building restrictions in the area for people wanting to live off grid? we're looking for property to build on to be off grid as well.
@southwestoffgridАй бұрын
The property I purchased had no zoning restrictions on it. You just have to do your research, and when you find a property, call the county and ask a ton of questions to make sure you can live off grid

If you are able to mulch your plants you would likely increase the survival rate by 25-75% They would also grow faster Maybe by a little maybe by alot The most important thing to do in a desert Is to conserve water for the plant to absorb
@southwestoffgridАй бұрын
Definitely. Thanks for the advice
@motoosoteo6219Ай бұрын
With the smaller yucca, they do better in pots until they are bigger, then put them into the ground.
@southwestoffgridАй бұрын
Thanks for the tip but I didn't plant this one. It just popped up after a thunderstorm
@motoosoteo6219Ай бұрын
@southwestoffgrid awesome, let it grow then. Also, you can use rock as a ground cover around your plants to help keep moisture in the ground.
@jimbongo2955Ай бұрын
Might want to make some pockets in the ground like they do in the dessert in Africa to plant and have things grow to concentrate the rain.
@southwestoffgridАй бұрын
I'll definitely look into it. Seems like a good idea. Do you have any video recommendations on the topic?

@southwestoffgrid2 ай бұрын
I would consider it if I can still live a self sustainable lifestyle. Tbh, my goal isn't to separate myself from society but to have more control over the resources i use and the cost of using those resources. I've seen some pretty cool videos of people who live off grid and grow food in cities.
