Off Grid isn't about convenience, its a lot of work not to mention staying up on everyday chores.Better get comfortable with being uncomfortable at least until your homestead is operational.

I agree it's not about convenience but we don't have to live as martyrs either. Living off the grid is about living a happier, more fulfilling, self-sufficient life. That's why we do it.

Thanks! I have so much more coming soon. This last summer was brutal out here in the desert. So, I need to prepare for the heat and dust storms

Best way to beat the dust is to make sure you don't have naked sand. Keep as many things growing on your land as you can! Plant some windbrakes too. Some neighbors out here just olow everything flat and wonder why its so windy!

What do you do for water? How do you refill your water?

There is a water spigot on the property for a water hose. I just fill up my tanks when I need it. This year, I will be setting up a water collection system, but in the desert, it won't be much. Out here, a well is not an option.
