I learned something from your video .Thank you . I have to replace a hub that broke on my 08 RZR. I think the bearing is still good but I now know how to try this without a press. Thanks for all the good info.

I upgraded my 2008 rzr to a 2022 pro xp and I was in a hurry to take it to the trails..So I bought the polaris brand aluminum roof and flip up windshield..$$$ but my rear storage boxes (same as yours) I got from amazon and my door and center storage bags from amazon too.. I bought 32" tires on beadlock rims from Rocky mountain atv for $1200 on sale.. 🙂 and a rear windshield from the same company that i like a lot.. All my extra lighting was from either ebay or amazon...what a money pit lol It really needs the gearing changed for the 32" tires for rock crawling..It's geared high from the factory..

I have a question and prolly nobody but me wants to do this but I have a 2012 RZR 800 (60” wide) and I want to convert it down to a trail version (50” wide) so I can ride on 50” trails in the forest. Is that possible?

@@RZRGARAGE I got bored so I got a part time job at Dunhams. Had to get new car cause someone smashed into the front of mine and totaled it. Bought another guitar…go figure. Other than that all is well. Hope things are good with you.

put that bearing in the freezer for 2-3 hours or more determine your direction so you know what way it goes in when you remove it from freezer.. use a heat gun and heat the hub up pretty hot 220-250, drop freezing bearing in soon as you pull heat away drop bearing there and it will drop right in, heat it up right next to freezer so it comes out of freezer same motion you remove heat.. use a heat gun or blow dryer so hub is not defaced in any way at all .. drops right in . .

Great video - any thoughts on the grease that's being used would be appreciated. I'm going over my '08 500 Sportsman and relubing/inspecting the cv joints. I was going to use the preloaded packets of generic cv joint grease but was wondering if thats a good quality grease and if they contain a sufficient volume. I gotta say I love the way buddy is packing the balls, cage and races though - thanks again

the grease im using here is Mobil Grease XHP222 Lithium complex Blue. been using it for many years both at work and at home .holds up really well and is water proof. i am uncertain and untrusting of the quality of the supplied grease packets, that is why i dont use them. thanks for watching and for the question.

I know this is an old video. It looked like those rear lower control arms bolted right up. Most of them super atv kits say Rzrs or 800-4 only. So they appear to fit just fine.

How can i tell if i have a rzr s conversion on my 2008 rzr ?
@RZRGARAGE
@RZRGARAGE Жыл бұрын
well, first off. if its a 2008 then it would be 50 inches wide if its stock. because they did not make the 800s till 2009, and that would be at least 60 inches wide depending on what wheels are on it. also , if it has the kit on it the front A-arms would be high clearance and the top ball joint threads into it like in my video. stock polaris arms from that era are straight and the ball joints are pressed in and have a clip that retains it. hope that helps you. thanks for watching and the question.

I appreciate your videos Travis. I watch them in advance for future knowledge of how things work and why. One question though, how does one know when it’s time to replace ball joints? Like with wheel bearings (watched that one too) you get side to side play in your hub, easy check once wheels are suspended. How do I check ball joints?
@RZRGARAGE
@RZRGARAGE 2 жыл бұрын
thank you for watching and for the question. check the ball joints by lifting machine off ground, grab top and bottom of tire and push toward machine if you feel it move just watch while you move it to see where movement is .if its the ball joint you will see it popping up and down.
