Best method, and easiest method I have found for preventing burn through on cobs is - carbonize it. First pack is just a little tobacco at the bottom, and it's a slow, easy burn. Making a charred bottom. After that, a little more of a pack, and our goal is to work our way to the top. Charring the bottom, and the side wall up. Char won't burn. And it can easily make for a cob that lasts long than we do.

Beautiful grain on that! Love the shape of that Amy mount stem! I have a Wellington pipe that's mimics that peterson model but is XXL in size, and the DR. Grabow Omega that mimics both of those and is smaller than the two. I have a video coming out about them on Thursday morning if you want to see them.

I see this was done 3 months ago. Not sure what you done with it since then. Everyone says leave it and i can respect the history behind the tapping. But what if the abuse of the pipe reflects on the abuse of his wife or child? I say take it down and do what you can to replicate the sandblast. Its only about an eighth of an inch. Start a new chapter for this piece of history. And bring new life to it. By the way, new subscriber here and enjoy your work. Ive learned a lot from you and put it to use with great results. Thank you.

Hi Tim, just a quick question if I may. After I polished the bowl on a pipe I'm restoring (trying to), I fined there is a dust residue inside the bowl from the carnauba wax. Do you clean it out with anything or just leave it there? All the best Glenn.

Very nice. I was cleaning the vulcanite p lip of an old made in England peterson 307 stem this week and it's gone brittle and cracked a piece off the bottom of the tenon below the army mount. It fits perfectly, would it be best to use epoxy or superglue to rejoin?
