I watched Bare Piper repair a vulcanite stem using a mixture of Stewmac adhesive, which is used for musical instrument repair and vulcanite dust. I tried it on a stem similar to the one that you’re showing, and it worked flawlessly. You can clinch with no worries of it cracking and it seamless you just about can’t tell where the repair was made. I thought this may help.

I was using Stewmac but I like the G Flex better. I still use CA glue from time to time. Thank you for watching.

I’ll try the GFlex, do you mix it with vulcanite dust?
@The_Southland_Piper6 ай бұрын
@@johnmains9201 I mix it with black epoxy pigment

That’s good work. Did you know that the lubricant you made out of wax and oil makes a fair leather conditioner? It’d make the bed of that vise look pretty good. Thanks for the video.

I’ve done a similar repair on a Ropp Canadian/lumberman with the same void. I used charcoal and black SA glue . It turned out pretty good almost like I knew what I was doing. lol
