I’ve been playing the guitar since I was 3 years old. I’m now 50. Grew up in a musical family …. I’ve heard most of the greats and played with quite a few. No one comes close to birelli. Truly one of the best guitarists I’ve heard. He also plays the base and the violin. Truly a savant at the guitar. Guy plays jazz rock blues gypsy jazz. Metal and even classical. Musicians like birelli come along once in a lifetime.

Not sure McLaughlin or Al di Meola could play the theme and improvise on the chords at that speed.

Not sure about McLaughlin, but I agree about di Meola. Al is one of my biggest influences, but I've never heard him do any bebop improv. Honestly, I don't know if I'd be able to keep up at that tempo.

I’ve seen McLaughlin play Cherokee at a similar tempo here on KZbin but it’s a much easier theme and his solo while being fast was not quite bebop. Check it out.

oh le thème de fou !! cs musiciens sont super je les ai vu sur scène plusieurs fois ( avant cette merde de Covid gérée n'importe comment) et à chaque fois le pied ...merci à eux revenez vite sur scène pour nous faire plaisir ...God bless you
