Excellent video, I'm just watching some videos, I'm thinking of making a track in my patio and I want to clear up some doubts, what height did you use the artificial grass? In the market I see many heights but it seems to me that the one you use is the smallest, on the other hand On the other hand, do you think it is necessary to make the dirt track? I mean, I live in a country where the roofs of the houses are flat and I will do it on my roof. I have 120 m2 to make the track and how is it on my roof? house I was thinking of doing the entire circuit with artificial grass. By the way, what should I take into account for the outdoor rug?
@VINTAGEBACKYARDRC
@VINTAGEBACKYARDRC 3 күн бұрын
@erickhuntergames It's just (local to me) home store stuff (maybe 7ish mm). Was whatever was inexpensive. My next track will be 90% turf with maybe a small dirt section. The brown stuff looks nice but is a pain to maintain. Rug is just outdoor thin carpet. Appreciate it!

@@VINTAGEBACKYARDRC Thank you very much for the prompt response, in fact I just have that question, because I am also thinking about making it only with artificial grass since here in my country, the houses have large roofs and I am thinking of doing it on my roof, but I think that since it is Pure artificial grass wouldn't behave in the same way as cars, or what do you think? I want to use it to run my typhon grom =D. By the way, they sell me 8 mm grass here and I think I'll go for that since it's also the cheapest =D.

I have a Madcap which I bought used from a model shop in the early 90's. First things I did was to fit a Technigold and oil shocks. I still have it but it doesn't see much action these days, I'd rather bash up my WLToys cars, a lot cheaper to replace parts.

@chrisboroff3546 The rere kits are fairly identical to the original. It would need to be pretty fresh for me to spend that on a Frog. So I guess it depends on how bad you want one.

Back in the day I built an rc10 with an MIP transmission and a JRx2 front end with a 30 degree kick up rather than the losi 20 degree. It was fantastically fast and won me many races across the SF bay area. About a year later they built the car for Masami with the longer front arms.

Back in the day I had a hornet and my mate had the falcon. The falcon was supposed to be a much better car, and maybe on a bigger track it would've been. But in our gardens it felt heavy and slow in comparison. The hornet is so simple and light. Also the suspension was way too stiff on his falcon. But the hornet rolls easily if you're not careful. Good times

Found this out the hard way and to my cost, when very small splashes of either fuel, or wet exhaust filth spoiled my beautiful candy blue paint job on my 1/8th Tamiya Mini 🤦🏻‍♂️ I had painted it with either Pactra or Custom Colour and only found out after it was finished that the brand I used did their own aerosol nitro fuel barrier to protect paint. I had no idea how vital it was. After only a couple of runs the paintwork had blotches. Needless to say I bought the protector, but I’m still yet to sit down and mask the whole Damn body up YET again so I can treat it ☹️🤦🏻‍♂️ It’s just languished in an RC bag for years. So always use paint protector on nitro cars fellas 👍🏻

You and me both😆👍🏻 Re your dried tires, in case you’re not aware, a good way to revive them a little is to remove, clean with a mild warm soapy solution and then store overnight in a polythene bag in glycerine👍🏻 Wipe off and refit and it gives them a bit more life if you catch them soon enough. 😎
