The handling of the Hopper/Hornet is better with the lighter 380 motor. So if you want more speed without losing handling, try the 380 sport tuned or another fast 380 motor. (Traxxas Titan 380 for instance). The Tamiya 380 Sport tuned comes with 2 shaft adapters (2,3mm to 3,17mm) so you can fit the Monster Beetle pinion gear on it.

@VINTAGEBACKYARDRC random question...ever consider lighting for your track so you can play longer in the winter when it gets dark really early. I'm really considering it for my track the last 2 rc play sessions we ran out of light before we ran out of batteries to drain. My main issue is closest outlet is a good 100'from the track.

I test my quads in backyard before taking them to the bush. My quads tore up edges of yard and started creating burms( was basically doing laps of edges of my yard almost a large circle). So a little bit of rakeing later it's now a groomed rc almost circle track with burmed corners. Quads I ran in yard where just lil 110cc and 150cc atvs...can buy a used China quad cheaper than a new rototiller so maybe consider them a good option...plus you get to tear up the lawn and have fun doing it. Can either go crazy and do doughnuts everywhere then rake or run a natural feeling track pattern and let the ruts start to make the track for you then rake it and add jumps. Just got my family into racing rcs we run 5x wltoys 124017's and one wltoys 124019(beginner car) so total of 6 cars.

Excellent video, I'm just watching some videos, I'm thinking of making a track in my patio and I want to clear up some doubts, what height did you use the artificial grass? In the market I see many heights but it seems to me that the one you use is the smallest, on the other hand On the other hand, do you think it is necessary to make the dirt track? I mean, I live in a country where the roofs of the houses are flat and I will do it on my roof. I have 120 m2 to make the track and how is it on my roof? house I was thinking of doing the entire circuit with artificial grass. By the way, what should I take into account for the outdoor rug?
@VINTAGEBACKYARDRCАй бұрын
@erickhuntergames It's just (local to me) home store stuff (maybe 7ish mm). Was whatever was inexpensive. My next track will be 90% turf with maybe a small dirt section. The brown stuff looks nice but is a pain to maintain. Rug is just outdoor thin carpet. Appreciate it!
@erickhuntergamesАй бұрын
@@VINTAGEBACKYARDRC Thank you very much for the prompt response, in fact I just have that question, because I am also thinking about making it only with artificial grass since here in my country, the houses have large roofs and I am thinking of doing it on my roof, but I think that since it is Pure artificial grass wouldn't behave in the same way as cars, or what do you think? I want to use it to run my typhon grom =D. By the way, they sell me 8 mm grass here and I think I'll go for that since it's also the cheapest =D.

Back in the day I had a hornet and my mate had the falcon. The falcon was supposed to be a much better car, and maybe on a bigger track it would've been. But in our gardens it felt heavy and slow in comparison. The hornet is so simple and light. Also the suspension was way too stiff on his falcon. But the hornet rolls easily if you're not careful. Good times

Found this out the hard way and to my cost, when very small splashes of either fuel, or wet exhaust filth spoiled my beautiful candy blue paint job on my 1/8th Tamiya Mini 🤦🏻♂️ I had painted it with either Pactra or Custom Colour and only found out after it was finished that the brand I used did their own aerosol nitro fuel barrier to protect paint. I had no idea how vital it was. After only a couple of runs the paintwork had blotches. Needless to say I bought the protector, but I’m still yet to sit down and mask the whole Damn body up YET again so I can treat it ☹️🤦🏻♂️ It’s just languished in an RC bag for years. So always use paint protector on nitro cars fellas 👍🏻
