In the seventies and early eighties I took an art similar to Silat, our teacher use to teach hand to hand combat to US Green Berets and US special forces teams he was a Silat instructor but developed a system he called Amid Kung Fu. We never entered tournaments and were strictly discouraged from doing so. I took a break from that art and started taking taekwondo so I could enter tournaments but kicked off the circuit by the ITF for using what they called Silat moves

Everything in the karate world is a copy of something else. Shotokan came from a combination of Shorin Ryu and Shorei Ryu. Shorei Ryu ended up morphing into Goju Ryu. Isshin Ryu and Shito Ryu are both based on combinations of Shorin Ryu and Goju Ryu. Kyokushin is a combination of Shotokan and Goju Ryu. Tang Soo Do is based on Shotokan, and Tae Kwon Do is an evolution of Tang Soo Do. And don't forget, Shorin is the Okinawan pronunciation of Shaolin. Everything comes from somewhere else, and all the masters were mixing and matching. There's nothing wrong about that.

Neat video! Obviously there are LOTS of Kung Fu styles, so he didn’t cover all of them, but this is very informative. I used to do Eagle Claw Kung Fu(not included in the video), and now I do Wing Chun. My favorites on this list are probably Shaolin Kung Fu and Wing Chun. I’m surprised he didn’t mention Wushu though. Jet Li does that. Technically Wushu means martial art. It refers mostly to Chinese martial arts but the term is most often associated with Chinese martial arts mixed in with gymnastics. The term Kung Fu itself means learning/ practicing a skill through hard work. However, it’s most often used to describe Chinese martial arts, but technically if you’re practicing music or practicing cooking then you’re technically doing Kung Fu. So, literally everything you do could be Kung Fu. It was originally spelled Gung Fu which is closer to the Chinese pronunciation, but for some reason Kung Fu with the “k” became the more popular spelling.

FUN FACT: Catch wrestling birthed Brazilian jiu-jitsu, freestyle wrestling, folk wrestling, luta livre, sambo, judo(heavily debated), MMA, and pro wrestling. an extra fun fact Professional catch wrestlers mostly worked for carnivals and got paid for fixing fights and putting on a show meanwhile the "amateur" wrestlers competed for real, and thats why we call the WWE pro wrestling. Have a great day everyone :)

JP is a con artist and not a great boxer, the only current boxer he has faced he lost to, and Tommy Fury is average at best. Sad to see Mike who is a boxing legend in this kind of stunt. Boxing should focus more on promoting legit fighters rather than these silly fights with influencers and so called stars.

Folkstyle wrestling is what is taught in american high schools and colleges. In Europe and the olympics they compete in freestyle, and the difference between folkstyle and freestyle is that folkstlye focuses on pins and controlling your opponent, in freestyle the focus is to get takedowns because in freestlye the ref stands you up after 10 seconds if nothing happens.
