Hello! Is this the video recommended to fix long head of biceps problem? I couldn't find the link in the description of your video that presents the different tests "long head of biceps vs rotator cuffs". After doing the test it seems I have long head of biceps injury. But when I do the first exercise it hurts. So I'm not sure it's the correct video I picked. Thanks 🙏

Ok I’ve sorted mine and I’ve come back here to share how I did it. I do motorcross and I damaged mine properly!! I tried everything including 3 cortisone injections. I also bought that silly strap which actually hurt it even more. Mine was torn on the tendon and the muscle was torn causing pain from the tendon, down about 5cm. NOTHING worked. Rubbing it sideways, up and down, icing it, etc etc etc…It was so so bad, I couldn’t do anything-had it for 5months. I started to read all the comments and picked up two bits of info. I bought a simple hot water bottle. I started every evening after supper, to put the hot water bottle on my arm and hold it there until it cooled down. I got it as HOT AS POSSIBLE!! For as long as possible. I also did it some afternoons. While doing it I kept my arm as STRAIGHT AS POSSIBLE!!! Then, I went to sleep with my arm STRAIGHT and never bent it in the night. I used extra pillows to keep it STRAIGHT. I did this for 3 weeks thinking I’m still going to have to go for an operation.. when one day I woke up and it felt sore, but a different sore. Because I’d kept it STRAIGHT for as long as possible, it had a chance to recover. The heat from the hot water bottle brought blood supply to the area and it healed. I went for a slow ride yesterday and the rest of my body is sore, but not the tennis elbow. I’m still doing the hot water bottle!!!! I’m NOT getting this pain again I am determined!!! HEAT AND OXYGEN & KEEPING IT STRAIGHT WHEN YOU SLEEP. Try it, don’t use ice, and don’t try anti inflammatorys because you need it inflamed and hot!!! Good luck!! 👍 Allan

Question: when beginning to perform these exercises, how often should they be done (weekly, daily?). MRI report states gluteal tendinopathy and possible micro tears in medius and minimus, possible labral tear and bursitis. I have 1 week in Doing your 6 moves for bursitis and it’s helping all conditions. Also doing these exercises (laying down) 3x/week, but not sure if I should increase frequency. Guessing as strength improves I move to stage 2 standing moves? Some of your stage 2 moves are similar to your 6 key bursitis moves so maybe I’m ok to do both from the outset. My issue I set appears to be from menopause and likely improper load balance of single leg squats rather than athletic injury, accident or overuse. I’m 59, excellent shape, walker and weightlifter the last 3 years. Any advice on frequency of reps mixed with your 6 bursitis moves appreciated.

thx for watching my videos! it sounds like you're committed to your recovery and program. the data on rehab suggests it's more important that the exercises are fairly difficult rather than frequent, so I suggest staying at 3 or max 4x/week but gradually and carefully ramping up the intensity until 4 sets of 6-8 are fairly difficult to do. Technically I do these fairly slowly compared to other exercisers, to increase the force and motor unit recruitment and trigger a better healing response. good luck!

Should we continue climbing below our max grades while using the flex bar? And by exercise, do you mean cardio is important for recovery? Thank you!
@focusrehab
@focusrehab 4 күн бұрын
thx for watching! yes to cardio, and re climbing yes to staying below max grades, and closing the gap by adding a deadhang type of progression. with deadhangs you can control the load and measure (in seconds and in hold size) your progress better than with actual routes on the wall. increase route difficulty and number as your deadhangs in prove to full body weight up to 60 seconds with great recovery. good luck!

I came across your video from other searches, this was a good explanation. I also have a arm, shoulder and neck pain. I am unable to raise my arm more than 75 degrees or higher either outwards in front of me or to the side. I have slight pain when sitting relaxed on the backside of the rotary cuff near the shoulder blade. It has been like it for a week now. I am going to see a therapist this weekend 11th Aug 2024, hopefully I can overcome this. I also had an MRI scan last week, doctor said it is slipped disk which another doctor said it was weak muscle on my left side of my neck. I think the cause of this pain was weight lifting outwards (T shape with 5lbs on either side), something I am not used to. I wish I could speak with you via Teams/Google Meet for a few minutes to figure this out because being in Thailand isn't an easy task.

I’m a jiujitsu and hyrox racing athlete. I’m 3 months post medial meniscus, longitudinal tear, involving the posterior horn. I had no idea my meniscus was damaged- I thought it was in my calf; popliteus or posterior tib… I continued to train around my injury and got back into my routine pretty quick (no running though) I just got my MRI last week because I still couldn’t run. I was quite shocked to realize I had a meniscus tear as a week before I got the MRI, I pause squatted 3 sets of 3 reps at 315lbs. It’s pretty crazy how influential the mind is now that I know it’s been my meniscus the whole time. I’m super guarded about in my jiujitsu now, and I can tell I’m babying it way more. Ignorance is bliss, that’s for sure. I pass all the Go’s . I’m going to lay off attempting to return to running quickly. Part of my frequent rehab routine involves 1. cycling 2. Pool jogging 3. Cold plunge 4. Sauna 5. Red light I do this on-top of an array of leg strengthening exercises. I hope I and my body can beat this tear without surgery and get back into competition with a peace of mind! Wish me luck! Hope this helps someone else. Cheers.

I've been to see my local physio normally a great guy but we're getting nowhere. The pain is now adding down towards my elbow for some reason. Been to the physio 6 or 7 times now. He's now recommended. Go and see my doctor. Get a ultrasound x-ray and maybe a cortisone injection. I can lift heavy things. It's just the small things like putting the torno cover back on the back of the truck, Or opening a jar. I use a bandsaw at work and after while the pushing through the saw starts to pain up. Be interesting to see what it is. Rotor cuff tendon bursitis etc.

One more question: how many reps for those exercises in Phase 1 of recovery?
@focusrehab
@focusrehab 20 күн бұрын
thx for watching! there are many rep schemes that work but i prefer a combo of 3 - a light warmup set, a single set at higher intensity and then a set of 4x20 to 30 second holds, ideally through different points in the range of motion. this to me works the best and covers the muscle/tendon fully. to choose a PT: many avg PTs just take you through a prescribed series of exercises like a protocol but the best will communicate with you the series of steps and milestones the exercises and treatments should help you reach, like "first we're going to make sure your pain at night/first thing in the day drops by 50%, then we'll ramp up the exercises and/or add new ones for the next phase..." etc. You'll have to interview therapists till you find a good fit. a) how many of these have you rehabed successfully and b) what are the stages and milestones you use to progress would be good questions to ask. Good luck!

Ive had an AC joint separation for about 6 months (only recently diagnosed about 2 months ago). It didn’t come from trauma… more from overuse (going heave on Bench presses). Currently I do a decent amount of these workouts on and off over the last 3 months however the pain hasn’t really gone away. At what point do I know if what I’m doing is helping or not ?
@focusrehab
@focusrehab 22 күн бұрын
In my clinic i'd screen carefully for a secondary underlying problem like impingement, especially with heavy bench presses as the cause. 6 weeks of impingement/tendinosis focused rehab rather than AC joint and compare progress. good luck!

Very helpful and I used the stretch of the back of the hand thru to to the elbow to dramatically reduce the swelling on the tennis elbow. I also have golfers Robbie and some more stuff which is located in between the two points at the very top of the elbow. So icing and ibuprofen were not affecting my recovery like stretching did.

@focusrehab
@focusrehab 20 күн бұрын
repairs are possible but in my community they've gone out of favor because of the longer rehab and the overall less ideal outcomes - problems like early arthritis after surgery exist and mean a repair is often only a temporary fix, and leads to other surgerys. Most docs where I live will simply clean it up as best they can and anticipate a little more time before additional surgeries are needed. Rehab tremendously lengthens the time before more surgery, but it needs to be started early and done regularly. good luck
