I know our planes with the larger engines can fly faster. Have you ever thought about getting in the higher 130kt rout? My buddy flew in with his lance, and said it was WAY easier since there was only a couple planes in it. I'm finishing up my Waiex with a Corvair.... and I was thinking that may be the way to go. LOL.

i live in Idaho now but used to fly my 69 Mooney M20cC from KTNP to big bear and pull out my folding bike to ride around town. I have lots of good memories of Big Bear.

LOL - Yeah, the camera shake makes things look wobbly. There's one shot where it looks like the fuselage is rotating around the wing. The cameras are getting better but they can't eliminate all the camera vibrations yet...

As AeroVee pilots we definitely have Jabiru envy. But I'm curious how long you have to go before overhaul and replacement, and why I see some like yourself electing to replace their older Jabiru rather than rebuild? @kyqx could probably answer this as well!
@JimHicke
@JimHicke 2 ай бұрын
The 830 hour Gen 3 needs a valve job and should probably just get a top overhaul (called for at 1,000 hours). I haven't had to do anything to it other than the occasional head bolt tightening and flywheel bolt inspection. It's a great engine. The shipping costs for the rebuild were through the roof so I just ordered a new engine (which I wanted anyhow!). Now I'm trying to decide what to build to put the Gen 3 in. B Model Xenos, Partially completed Sonex, Jabiru 4 seater ,.... lots to think about at Oshkosh!

I've been holding off on touching up our polish job because I was afraid it would affect the aerobatic performance. I guess it should be ok! Waiex 191 spins a lot better to the right than the left. Is yours like this at all? I notice your spin is to the left.

Good thing you posted this. When you crash and die and cause property damages the insurance companies have proof you over flew the planes rated capabilities.. thus meaning no insurance comoany will cover anything.. and now that ive commented it and made you aware of it. You and your estate will have a very difficult time winning any damage lawsuits. 😂 dont worry even if you delete this comment its on the servers and the feds and insurance conanirs can still see this comment. 🎉😂😂😂

Perhaps I should have asked if this vid is pretty faithful to real time vs having been sped up. It seems a much more zippy rate than that of other sonex vids so I was also wondering if yours has the larger aileron option. Thanks, and very nice looking ride.
