I know we will never catch a video of this large locomotives and trains passing by or near a CAT mine dump truck because they are not planned to be in the same area as one another. But I would like to see the size and power together.

how often do they maintain these coal cars ?? some are sqeeking and others are making a bumping sound, what happens when a long train carrying fully loaded coal train cars and one of the cars wheels fail or bearings burn up ..what then ?

So sad to see the engines and trailers covered with graffiti. Do any passenger trains use the loop?
@Scotty3146Ай бұрын
Watching from Austria. We were so fortunate to see a train on the Tehachapi loop on a trip to California a few years ago. Quite by chance we found a vantage point and sat for hours watching!! At what speed do those juggernauts travel on the loop, up and down?

I wonder what is going to happen to the SD35/40/P40's that the MRL had. Im sure BNSF will sell them off god forbid scrap them. I think there was a 45 or two still on their roster as well.
@yankeesforlife2428 күн бұрын
MRL doesn’t have any sd35s Anymore. The 355 (the last remaining sd45) and 290 (only sdp40) are set to be scrapped and the MRL sd40 2xrs are all still in service either in yard or local service. A lot of MRL power is in really bad condition including the 290/ 4310 which both died before the merger.

Love the optical illusion of the camera optics plays on the trains' lengths. Perfect example is at 45:36. It appears to be a relatively short train. That is until you get to 47:04. Then it's "DAMN" that's long.

So M567 is no longer a symbol as well as M218 no longer being a symbol now it’s M266 and M267 doing the job over the river line and from Selkirk to Chicago there’s M565 M566 eb/wb I think those now replaced the mixed freight ex boxcars tanks at one point were part of M567 consist basically running 4 trains versus the two while the M266/267 is what M218 used ti be

I know that this Video is somewhat old, but it sounds like NS at the time was using Conrail's horsepower calculations: ~ 1-hp./Ton. If we just go by 15,000-Tons, the power was 1.16-hp./ton - simply insufficient to tackle grades. I know that it's easy for me to talk, but they would have been better-off splicing another 8,800-hp. mid-consist.

In June won’t be to far past where you are in these videos I’ll be catching them on the Pittsburgh line which includes Harrisburg but the Harrisburg line is the most southern portion as your off the Pittsburgh line if you go south of Harrisburg back heading to New Jersey or down to Philadelphia
