Next time you go Scrap lead hunting, bring a good pneumatic tire hand truck with you. those buckets when Half-full are too heavy to carry back to your truck. Some good rubber tie-downs wouldn't hurt either.

I purchased a new Marlin 336 .30-.30 from walmart in october 2020 and it will group Fed blue box 150 grain and winchester power point 150 grain 1.25 inches. Does not shoot remington 150 or 170 grain well and will not stabilize the Hornady Lever Revolution 160 grain.Can someone tell me their experience with trying to group lever revolution 160 grain at 100 yards.

Im loading 9mm using 149 grain cast lead bullets and 4.8 grains of powder for about 11 cents each. I get brass and lead free at the local range When i was just buying 1000 primers at a time it was about $7 per 50 rounds using cast lead but buying 2250 primers lowered the cost to $4.50 because its cheaper with shipping and hazard fees to buy as much as possible. I wouldnt doubt that even now its possible to load 223 for 12 cents by using free lead to make heavy bullets (to retain energy) and using less powder and buying thousands of primers. I want to do this but got other priorities and nowhere to shoot it anyways. If you have a power drill and a phillips tip you can use that to remove military crimps

You men are still young. You’re breathing and ingesting a sh*t-ton of lead by sifting and generating dust. Better get a simple blood test from your primary care physician and check your lead level, just to be sane and safe. If your lead burden is OK, then you can go back to harvesting range lead.

Im a member of a local gun club and the treasurer kept asking me for a couple weeks to mine the lead so i went in and got 121 pounds in 2 hours. The only reason it took 2 hours is because i stopped for a little bit then went back and i was trying to clean the pit and be thorough about removing the lead. They want me to keep doing it but buying respirators gets a little expensive because i buy the ones that use cartridges and specifically the ones rated for lead dust. They expire after 40 hours of use or 30 days after opening What do you do with the jackets?

So I got a lancer mag to try out and I love it aside from an inconsistent lock back on empty, is that an issue with the spring or the follower? I saw they have a gen 2 version, maybe that fixed it

To me, you fluxed with wax, then you fluxed with sawdust. I alternate with either depending on what I have on hand, makes no difference to clean the lead, so I would not consider them separate operations. My range has a ton of scrap lead in the berms, wish they’d let me get it.

I had major issues with the Brownells desert tan that I used on my last build. No matter how long I shook it it came out clumpy and kept clogging up. Screwed up the build. I’m happy to see you had good luck with the FDE

An additional reason to think about having this conversion kit on hand is the possibility that in an economic collapse, invasion, cartels/gangs, politically crazed mobs, or any other SHTF situation... our personal supplies of pricey .223 or 5.56 may run out much faster than we anticipated. In that case, you would be suddenly be left with a completely useless rifle! However, even with the Bidenflation that we suffer through today, one can slowly and painlessly stockpile large amounts of high quality, high velocity copper plated 22LR for very little money (comparatively). Also factor in how lightweight it would be to carry a lot of .22LR for reloading mags! A box of 50 rounds is like nothing! Like the saying goes... "Any ammo is better than no ammo"... so it may keep your gun from becoming a paperweight when the primary ammo is extinguished and no more is available to buy!

If you have Green brass try Flitz tumbler/media additive..... If you put it directly on the brass or a cloth and rub it on, it instantly changes it back to it's original color... You will see it leave a black residue on the cloth... Normally used in a vibratory cleaner but works both ways.... It's amazing....
