My gosh! What a tremendous sound! Full bodied, just the right amount of “umph” and yet capable of rendering a beautiful tone in softer more lyrical phrases - it clearly makes its presence known and felt in a larger ensemble but obviously can also work for smaller ensembles and solo work… tremendously versatile…

Clean, smooth, warm, and dark. An absolutely beautiful tone, Wessex seems to be keen in outdoing itself with every instrument! 🥰

The York copy clearly has the nicest tone. Slurring is smoother on piston valves. The Wyvern appears to be a great 'all around' tuba. However, the "Anton" is a great bargain within the Wessex line. The "Mahler" appealed to me the least.

What a great tuba for the price.

Euphoniums are the vocal soloists of the brass section. Grew up with my dad , sister, and i all playing them. Just hauntingly beautiful.

Here is an idea get blue prints from Brazil instrument manufacturering and design a baritone and a bass saxophone that will go down to low G on the horn? It’s pretty cool and gives you that extra notes in the bass part.

To demonstrate the tuba more, u should play the rest of the excerpt. The low notes are where its at

My Jazz Tuba from you has been my constant companion at numerous carolling gigs this winter - so portable and they can squeeze us into tiny spaces in pubs which is a bonus! So pleased you now have a suitable gig bag for it - it’s on next year’s Xmas list

I wouldn't say it's a review considering it's your brand, showcase would be a better word.

Couldn't you shoot the videos somewhere else? Not in storage and between boxes. That place is not suitable for such beautiful instruments.

Thank you! Eventually, yes! If our video producer/social media manager gets her way (hi 🙋♀️) then we will have a proper space for these videos. For now, we have to work with what we’ve got!

This looks very similar to a miraphone 186 or the Mach Brass 410. I personally have a mack brass 410 but im missing a thumb ring it was unscrewed by some previous owner and lost. Dos the Mahlers thumb ring do that if so id be interested in acquiring one.

I thought the forward bell gave the instrument more voice. It felt as if the sound had been equalized and higher frequencies were elaborated. I felt like an audio recording would insist upon the straight bell but a concert would insist upon the forward bell.

Harsh but doesn’t feel harsh. Soft but doesn’t feel soft. Warm and mellow but not exactly warm and mellow. It is just what it is, a beautiful tuba sound . It is not possible to ‘describe’ it in words.
