Its crazy how expensive sims 4 DLC is, sure discounts happen but it should have a permanent lowered price. I wanna get seasons for sims 4 but it's always so expensive. 😅

The Sims 4 is a broken mess. After not playing it for months, I decided to give it another shot, only for it to crash to desktop. I don’t even have any mods installed! The game is just so buggy: interactions keep dropping from the queue, and it’s ridiculously hard to get Sims to do ANYTHING at all. I went back and played The Sims 2 and The Sims 3 for hours instead. TS4 just isn’t worth playing in the deplorable state it’s in. The Sims Team cares more about releasing new DLC than fixing the damn game.

I'm watching the dumsterfire, that sims 4 has become from a safe place with Sims 3 and my anticipation for Paralives. It's cozy here and much much cheaper. Thanks for this summery of this year.

They always ran out of ideas, here are the themes for TS4EPs: Going on vacation: Four separate packs Renting an apartment in the city: Two separate packs Exploring the supernatural: Six separate packs Raising kids: Four separate packs Education: Two separate packs Farming: Two separate packs Rehashed concepts from previous iterations: Pets, Seasons, University, Business, Dating Rehashed concepts from BG: Weddings The last pack to introduce a totally new concept never seen in the entire franchise is "Bust the Dust kit", and before that, "Into the Future"...

I remembering hearing a theory once that 4 is on an alternate timeline because Alexander's name appears in 3 as the author of Where's Belle? The theory went that there was no one else in the Goth family with the name, so it was implying Alexander as an adult travelled back in time and stopped his mother's disappearance, leading to her being safe and well in 4. I like the theory in that it adds lore reasons for the timeline diverging, though I'm doubtful that it's actually canon.

I definitely don't mind the idea of an alternate timeline, but they really should have played into the "alternate" part if they really wanted to commit to it. Put some interesting differences into the stories so it really does feel different, yet familiar. Even something as simple as "Alexander was born first and Mortimer disappeared instead" could have made some impact in changing things up.

Something that needs to be clarified is that not all TS3 worlds are set 20-25 years before The Sims 1. Some store worlds, such as Midnight Hollow, are set at the same time as The Sims 1; other worlds are set 10-15 years after The Sims 1 (Sunlit Tides), and some of them are set many years (Roaring Heights), or centuries before the main games (Dragon Valley), or in the future (Lunar Lakes). In fact, the real Bella Goth is buried in Lunar Lakes. This was confirmed by the developers. She never found a way to get back home after being abducted.
@adrianblake887616 күн бұрын
Roaring Heights and Dragon Valley aren't placed centuries before TS1... Each store world has a few premade sims from Sims2's main three neighborhoods. And Dragon Valley is therefore placed in the same point in time as Sunlit Tides, while Roaring Heights and Monte Vista share their point in time with Sunset Valley and Riverview...

Ea is a million dollar company that (should) have hired professionals who spent their time learning how to code and make games. What do people mean it's too hard to add in cars? There are literal children who watched KZbin tutorials and made their own games. You're telling me professional adults can't do what children do for fun?

I think the reason everything is so big in The Sims 4 is because it was originally supposed to be an online multiplayer game, but they reworked it into a singleplayer game last minute and rushed the release of it, therefore not having much time to make new objects and animations for those objects. However, objects like the cupcake machine and observatory didn't used to have alternatives but we later got the ability to make cupcakes in the oven and they added a normal sized telescope, so I'm still holding out hope for normal sized teddy bears (and also microscopes), preferably in a free update to the base game though and not another paid pack.

I wish we had all of TS2 toys for kids back, also why are toy chest and doll houses SO FREAKING LARGE in ts4? I never use them because you need a gigantic room and the dollhouse itself takes up 6 to 8 tiles depending.
@rebesim17 күн бұрын
I agree that everything is way too big for no reason, but you can actually size down the dollhouse with the [ key on your keyboard and it'll still be functional. I also like to have a kid's playroom separate from their bedroom in my builds for this reason. There's also the option of putting it in the yard if you don't have space in the house lol.

I think the Sims team is worried if they add cars players who don't use cars would be mad but like...just replace it with a bike or showing them walking off the street or to one of those fake subway stations with their household then and give infants and toddlers strollers in the animation.

You completely forgot about the vampire packs. In at least one of previous games (the one with "Night out" pack or something, that had vampires in it) toddler vampire sims could bite their teddy bear, and other sims would react to it. Human sims obviously with shock. In Sims 4 there is also a bat version of Blarffy called Bearculla or something. No fun vampire children interactions with it tho.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who salty about this. Like I did come back to The Sims 4 when they introduced pools and toddlers and also when they made the base game free but I still don't like the lack of normal size teddy bears or doll houses like I don't completely hate the giant teddy bears or dollhouses because It is kind of normal for those to exist in some cases but I hate how every single dollhouse and teddy is absolutely massive and not portable (I know doll houses were never portable I'm only talking about teddy bears in that instance) I do have some CC for The Sims 4. Where someone remade the teddy bears from The Sims 3 into the Sims 4 (I think the creator of those mods might be around The Sims 4 but I haven't played The Sims 4 for a while so I don't remember exactly who made them) but they aren't quite the same because while they are portable and they do look like the normal teddy bears, they only function like ordinary toys. So you don't get any extra moodlets from sleeping with them and children and toddlers will play with them the way they play with ordinary toys so no tea parties or adults talking through them I also have some CC where the dollhouses are normally sized. On another note, I also hate how everything in the Sims 4 has to be giant sized like it might be normal for a child to have one giant stuffed animal or one giant dollhouse but not every single toy a child will own will be gigantic even if that child is the child of a billionaire they will still have some normal teddies that they could take to bed with them and of this gigantic furniture just makes it harder for me to make a normal sized house for a normal family that isn't rich and it's too bad because the Sims 4 actually has the best build mode. I could easily build a normal nice looking house but because of their obsession with gigantic objects I have to instead use the money cheat and build just a massive rectangle for all of my Sims so that they can have a variety of objects because they won't make anything normally sized (yes I did try shrinking down the doll houses and teddy bears and Sims won't interact with them shrunk down in my game, although for some reason they do still interact with the telescope when it shrunk down, which I find to be a bit weird. You would think one will be easier to work with than the other in that case and wouldn't be the telescope where you need to walk into it)

I was never big on typical family gameplay, but I miss these toys. I always got them for my family's kids. I do the same in TS4, with these huge ones too, which is cool and all, but I never understood why we couldn't have smaller ones too to put in children's crib or bed

I use to be SO scared of Pol Smith 😭 I don't really know why it started but one time I tried to brave the household out cause I wanted to play as Johnny and when Jenny, Jill and Johnny all left the lot for work and school I swear Pol looked straight at the camera and said "Hey, how's it going?". It scared me so bad I shut off my computer and didn't turn it back on for three days. 💀 I play an Uberhood rotation now and I'll be honest, I'm still kind of scared of him... 🥲
