Although it is commonly touted that an RX-8 yellow/yellow bar combination can result in understeer on the NC, I am very happy to report the yellow/yellow ARB combo does no such thing when combined with the excellent BIlstein B16 PSS10s. Balance is the same as the standard car.

Hey mate, did you preload the suspension when tightening up the lower control arm bolts? I did this job last week but tightened up the arm bolts when the car was on the stands still. Have since got it aligned so wanted to see if you know it'd be an issue or if I can leave it as is. Cheers
@CompletelyDriven3 ай бұрын
No. You should always do up suspension bolts after the car is back on the ground. If you have had it aligned since, then they would hopefully have undone them in that process.
@TristanCooper173 ай бұрын
@@CompletelyDriven Thanks for getting back to me! So hopefully as they loosened the bolts to align the wheels then it shouldn't be a problem anymore if my understanding is right! Hopefully not caused any damage in the driving beforehand! Thanks

@CompletelyDriven3 ай бұрын
Sounds good, remember good front brake pads, something like PBS Prorace. You are diving in at the deep end with Cadwell as your first, just take it easy and build up your pace. Too many people crashed in first hour when I was there last year. Bedford is a great place to learn your car on track, loads o run off. Get tuition early in the day, makes a real difference.

Heat is the only thing that will get these out preferably a burning torch heat the steel bush insert so it expands from the bolt and the bolt should come out. Sometimes I have even had to use the weight of the car on to the vertical bolt with the nut on the last few threads of the bolt. This pushes the bolt up and out. I think these and the rear suspension bolts are the worst on the MK3 if only they had built them up with copper slip at the factory !!

Great video, thank you! Did you happen to take any notes on the rough torque value to solve your issue? Mine is doing the same - not self-centring - so I’m hoping this solves it for me too
@CompletelyDriven4 ай бұрын
My issue was the opposite of yours, my rack was worn and too loose. Unfortunately I had to get a new rack. I wouldnt have thought the rack was your issue, the racks dont normally get tigher. I have had an issue on a different car that sat for a long tine that the tie rods became stiff and that affected the self centering.

At six minutes the stuff on the bleed nipple is probably Plumbing tape. I recently bleed an NC1. Both rear calipers were sucking air as they were being bleed. The nipples 5:58 needed to be removed, given 3/4 turns of the tape to allow a proper bleed. Oddly the front nipples were fine. You vids don’t get the exposure they deserve.
