I was a SG fan, watched all the series.... Loved them all Watched this, it is poorly written, odd characters, not following lore, and overall it was pretty poor.... Cannot recommend, just watch a few trailers and you can extrapolate the underlining socialpolitical themes that are not subtle and really is the reason for it, not true scifi... . And sadly is why it kinda sucks, and it's sad as I would have loved them to do a new series....

You knew if Jacob or Bra'tac was in an episode, it was gonna be a great one.

This was an amazing series, all except for the fact that almost everyone just seemed so toxic towards each other, save for a very select few. I will say that the exploratory portions of the show, the genuinely new species they came across, the new worlds, the mysteries.... those are the sci-fi elements that really kept me coming back. The show did seem to hit its stride during its last season, I'll admit. Yeah, it really is a shame it didn't earn at least one more season.

While SG-1 had its cringe moments, this is the kind of strength that modern Hollywood has forgotten. They think unless every woman on screen is going toe to toe with every man on screen, at all times, that it makes women look "weak." And they gaslight history by convincing everybody that every old movie, before they came along and fixed everything, just treated every woman like trash. Hollywood devalues *this* kind of strength. Sam *knew* there was a possibility she was wrong, but no matter what, she was not going to let that little girl die alone. This has largely been passed over in favor of "punch punch punch GURL POWAH."

If I understand this correctly 1) team 1 enters a planet, they die of diesease and creatures as a solar flare blocks the stargate, they send a kino and dr Rush through the gate to the past 2) team 2 enters and finds the kino, displaying team 1's death, they try to find a cure but fail and send another kino through the gate explaining the cure 3) team 3 find both kinos makes the cure

This trailer makes the show seem much more outdated than it really is as it still holds up as one of the best shows across all genres in 2024.

Great show, but my totally special and interesting opinion of it is that the show lacked likable people and personalities. It took itself seriously and the lack of those kinds of balancing figures made it depressing. It's kind of like House tbh. Lots of good drama there, but it's depression with seasons.

The year is 2029. The offspring of former Stargate leaders from: Elie Wallace, Major Samantha Carter, Lt. Colonel John Sheppard, Dr Elizabeth Weir & Colonel Jack O’Neil are all gathered together in a top secret military facility. The reason is to combine all their genetic intelligence to go back in time. Using a new Super Ship built by a previous Stargate military team. Which is overseen by an Asgard AI. The mission is to visit all three worlds from Stargate, Atlantis and Universe. (Collecting Teal'c and Ronon Dex along the way). To find three invaluable pieces of technology which will ultimately help them to get back from a Stargate world where a team of Stargate Scientists are trapped after a freak Quantum time shift. With no way to get home. Only a ship fitted with a new Quantum Warp Drive can achieve this. The only problem is this technology does not exist. The explorers must build the Quantum warp drive in order to get home. They will face a series of tough challenges and hostile situations in each world in order to complete their mission.
