Yes they do, not much you can do about it. The stumps really aren't an issue, the tops look messy, but should make some cover for a few of the animals around. They will deteriorate in 5-10 years.

Nice video Tom!! Little late getting to it way behind on videos. Yes the deer stick out in the snow love hunting in the snow. Looked like a great time at camp considering you were a couple short. You guys ate well Thanks for sharing it

Federal and Hornady now have flight control wads to prevent the extreme spread which is great for hunting or predator defense around the farm, but for home defense distances of 3-15 yards #4 buck is excellent. In the 90's I lived in a New England town that was shotgun and muzzleloader only. Myself and friends had shotguns w/ fully rifled slug barrels and with sabot slugs they were impressively accurate at 100yds, so it begs the question why use 00 buckshot at all for hunting?

Im starting to think it’s a combination of lower hunter numbers & also the amount of ppl who tag a buck or fill Doe tags in archery! In my area (5B) most of the hunters have Harvested at least 1 if not 2 tags before rifle season starts. Opening day shooting was normal or above normal in number of shots on average however Sunday was slower light to moderate shooting, the rest of the season was quiet! Too much so, very little or no shooting at all!! The lack of hunters out & heavily pressured deer kept movement tight to cover and at night. I personally know alot of my family & friends (including myself) have filled their antlered tag in Archery season and have done so repeatedly for several Years now. It’s sad but it is not the same as it used to be 10 years ago!! Love the channel, deer camp is a video I look forward to every year!

I agree, the areas around us were very quiet this year, it’s hard to keep the pressure off when the archers are doing so well. It may be time for a special season for crossbow. Thanks, and Happy New Year!

Good break down. Even if you’re not a younger person carrying a whistle is just a good idea. I worked EMS and search Rescue for several years. More often than not it was actually older or middle-aged people who had some sort of a medical or trauma event that we ended up going in for. Even had my great uncle who had fallen off a tree stand and broke his back. He was only about a quarter mile from his house, but nobody would’ve found him if my great aunt hadn’t started getting worried and gone out into the woods looking for him. She found him laying at the bottom of his tree stand conscious but unable to Move his legs.

When Cook is there, there is another level obtained. When it is just us, it's toned down just a hair. We saw some good bucks on the game cams prior to the season, so we thought we had a good chance.

Mike wants a buck only, after all this time I don't blame him. Shawn and I as non-residents, it's next to impossible to get them. They are normally all allocated before we would even have a chance to put in for them.

Rook makes a good point. I'm also from out of state and hunt Clearfield. We nonresidents never get doe permits in that area. Opening day Saturday lots of shooting in the morning. After noon about half that much. Sunday PA hunters with doe permits shooting anything with brown fur to get meat in the freezer. All the deer camps clear out Sunday evening. Monday and Tuesday nothing on gamelands. Everyone gone. Not complaining but this is what happens in Clearfield

Very glad to see/that you've posted another video. This season I was sidelined, wasn't able to go to deer camp. So your videos and a few others are what I needed, a good dose of deer camp. Thanks again, enjoyed it as always. I see you guys enjoy Old Fashions, I prefer Manhattans. The Painted Stave Distillery in Smyrna makes an awesome version of those drinks and offers them in pre-mix bottles. Hope all of you have a Merry Christmas.

Glad we could give you a little taste of deer camp! Helps just a bit to be there with us. My Dad was a Manhattans person, can remember him making them when they had people over the house.
