"Hangy aroo..." - Hugh Cornwell had already checked out by this point and was just phoning it in. His guitar 'solo' on Golden Brown at this same gig is a case in point. He literally couldn't give a monkey's. I bumped into my old school mate from Rochdale in the summer of 1990 and he told me he was going to this gig. In spite of what I've just said about Hugh I do wish I'd gone now...

I seen them when this was first was released in 1977. Brilliant! Dave wore a green jumpsuit, had a basin cut and tash, JJ had his leather jacket and tight jeans on. Jet was at the back didn't see too much of him. Don't remember the bald bloke trying to imitate Hugh Cornwell though. Who's he?

Wonderful. One of their best songs. I almost wore a hole in the cassette from listening to it over and over again when the album came out. Such talent.

I saw the Stranglers about a dozen times in London in the late 70s and this is definitely not the same band. It's all far to clean and a bit chinzy. And why's no one gobbing at them 😂
