Just bought my first gelliplate today. Thank you for all the good info. What about using ink on stamps to stamp onto the paint? Have you tried that? Wondering if the ink stays to be able to be pulled up with the paint.
@jennifertobinart3 ай бұрын
@@guerita219 hello! I’m glad this video is helpful to you! So, I’m not completely sure what will happen bc I haven’t tried that exact thing. But if you use a stamp on wet paint, it will pull up some of the paint - leaving paint on the stamp and showing that stamp pattern on the plate. If you put paint on the plate and let it dry, then try to stamp ink on that layer of paint, I’m not sure if you’ll see the ink. That would depend on the opacity of the paint layer. I would also test out the ink on the plate and check for staining - if that worries you at all. The important thing is to experiment and have fun! 🤩

Love your work, and this is so well explained! I'm rediscovering Gelli printing, and I'm so frustrated - I can't for the life of me figure out what I'm doing wrong this time. I just end up with a splotchy mess because it just doesn't pull up all the paint. Is it the paper? Is it the paint? I'm using Utrecht paint, making sure not to use too much or too little. I'm making sure to wait a full 5 minutes before pulling, and the plate is brand new. Argh. I'd love some advice because I used to be able to do this! Thanks for any help.
