Man I was looking at a video on your Columbia trip and found this it really hit home

I lived in the Andes for many years. Instead of giving cash, a better option can be to give shelf-stable foods, such a mandarinas or containers of yogurt. I cannot say no to the street kids, but I learned that many of them have to take what they get back to an adult...if you give them food, they eat it right away and get the benefit.

That is, if you don't want to get scammed/robbed/pickpocketed/etc. Don't expose your valuables, don't expose yourself, and keep a low profile. #6: Have been there multiple times, definitely recommend. Kenya is basically Visa on arrival now. It's Visa free now as of 2024 but with an admin fee. There is typically no way around the non-citizen price in attractions. This is common in a few countries. It really isn't that much more. It seems like you can negotiate but nope. Taking photos in the CBD is ok, maybe it was the complexion. I had no problem in front of the police and they knew I wasn't Kenyan. They don't wear shorts. Speaking of photos and the CBD, there are guys with great cameras that will take photos for you and they are very good. Get your negotiating skills together. Drones are illegal in alot of countries ban them, I wouldn't travel with one. I would take cell phone safety with a grain of salt. Every country I've been to, the locals warn me that theft is very common, i haven't had anyone try.

I am Kenyan and I approve this video. Make susr you get a local guide to assist you in your tours until you understand how to navigate and deal with the locals.

Don't forget, Kenya is a former British colony. It is a fairly free and democratic country. The people in the cities speak good English and are very friendly.
