Thanks for your videos Alex (and for help w/ SolidWorks recently too). Question: what Hat Switches and Stick Grips are you using? At 13:26 in your video (kzbin.info/www/bejne/imeZZ5KfhstsZtk) you mention the hat switches for trim and show your schematic. Looks simple enough, but wondering what components you are using. Also, are you wiring hat switches to both sticks? Using any other functions on your stick beyond PTT and Trim up/down? (Auto-pilot disconnect, or what-not) Thanks again Alex.

The drum sanders for cordless drills work great for sanding out and relieving the the area around the front carry through spar and pin area. Harbor freight has a kit with different sizes for cheap.

Hey Alex, love the videos! Definitely my favorite build on KZbin. Are you using PTFE fuel lines and if so, do you mind sharing the brand of line and fittings? Thanks

You are definitely my favorite build channel on KZbin. I'm in the middle of building a Rans S-6S and also am using Oratex and heavily considering a Verner 7u so your channel is a great inspiration. You're Oratex looks fantastic on the tail feathers!

Impressive work on the Oratex covering! I'm amazed at how you managed to avoid any wrinkles, especially around the elevator corner radius

How do you like the Verner motor? I plan on building a WWI Airdrome Airplane kit, and was looking at this engine and the Rotec. I have seen people complaining about the Rotec having a lot of quality issues. What is your opinion on the this engine?

Hello Alex, I have really enjoyed your build videos, and it is nice to see the r/c aircraft on the wall, I can't believe you still have the Tyron fun flyer.

Just finding your build series. Thanks for capturing your work. I'm watching thru from the beginning. Love your care and precision in your work. I am building the STi which comes with the quick build wing but am appreciating your wing build videos. You make it look easy. I like your no-nonsense presentation style and lack of music. I flew with S&R in 2021 as well. Flew the STi with Paul. Like you, I had the sight-picture problem you mentioned, since my most recent plane I owned was a Super Decathlon. Sitting left seat I was always pulling us left at touchdown. Annoyed Paul for sure. I did mount a GoPro when I flew with Paul, but it didn't capture anything compelling. I put it on my channel but it is pretty boring. Thanks again.

@@vernerradialkitfox4083 That's good to hear as those airplanes never worked very well on one engine. My late dad had experience with C-46s dating back to WW-II and always said if you ever see one airborne with a prop feathered, get far and fast out of the way because it was only coming downward.

That radial sound soOOooOOoo good. I wish the phone video cameras didn't stop or randomize the props. I didn't get your statement, "Center of gravity is 8 inches." Eight inches from what? I presume there's a standard? What am I missing?
@vernerradialkitfox4083 Жыл бұрын
Datum for the CG is the leading edge of the wing. For flight it needs to be between 9.5 and 16.0". It will meet that 9.5" forward limit with a 150lb pilot and just a couple gallons of gas. Bottom line, I won't have to worry about being tail heavy even with 150lbs of baggage, two fat pilots and full fuel

Never bleed from the top down! Always push the air up! Bleed from the wheels up! All it takes is a simple pump oil can. Sad people do it backwards all the time!

I've been told by others, and I agree, that my 78" Prince P-Tip prop makes my 912S Rotax sound like a little radial. It's also the best prop I've tried in 3000 hours of flying my RANS S-7S, and I've tried them all, the sound it makes is a bonus!

You have been busy, and it shows. Your plane is already a 'show stopper' with that big and beautiful radial engine. My memory is not what used to be so I'll ask, is that BBR fuel injected?

Would this be too much engine for a Pietenpol Air Camper?
@vernerradialkitfox4083 Жыл бұрын
If the 7 cylinder is too heavy then there is always the 5 cylinder. Might be a better choice. Go to their website and click on the gallery. www.vernermotor.com/ You'll see planes of similar weight and performance profile.
